We will eventually be posting again soon on a regular basis. We have a ton to get caught up on our blog and let you know all what we have been up to. Currently we are editing all we can to get photos up online so people can see them before Christmas.

Speaking of Christmas I am taking orders for Christmas up to Dec. 12. That is the deadline for any orders to be guaranteed back in time for Christmas. Any Christmas cards that are needed let us know ASAP so we can design a proof and let you see it before ordering.

We are thankful for all the clients we do have and we hope you all had a fabulous Thanksgiving! Also... any of you that need to let us know if you have moved or have updated information to tell us let us know so we can update your folder.

Melissa and Brian have been great to work with since the day we met them when they came in to meet us. We knew from the start we would hit it off. They wanted to be different and do lots of things out of the ordinary. Starting with the engagement shoot we took them to a laundry mat (which we have done with one other couple). Melissa was wearing red shoes and it fit in really well putting her in one of the laundry cart/baskets. They were really good sports. People in the laundry mat gave us some weird looks and I think we made the owner a little nervous. But it was cool and we got our shots.

On the wedding day Jeff and I met Melissa with her friends, sisters, mom and grandma at Happiness Plaza Salon where they got their hair done at. All the ladies hair was as Mel described it Victorian with a modern twist. She carried the theme throughout using peacock feathers in their hair and wearing black chic dresses. Mel's dress was made from English netting with the most beautiful beadwork, antique gold in color with a V-neck. Christina Wu wedding dresses are known as having a timeless style and elegant look. Mel looked absolutely stunning and fit with the theme and right in where they got married, The Scottish Rite (very victorian and elegant). After the ladies had all their hair done we all headed over to the Scottish Rite where the ladies finished getting ready. One of Mel's friends did Mel's make-up in the brides room.

When it was time for Mel to get in her dress the ladies were all ready and helped her. Her mom and grandma assisted. Since Melissa and Brian had decided not to see each other we took Melissa and the ladies all around the facility and got some really killer shots. When it was time to start the ceremony guests were lined outside the Scottish Rite and down the sidewalks waiting their turn to be seated in their assigned seat and table. Guests filled the room as both sets of parents came down the grand staircase in the ballroom. Brian looked very handsome as he had a suit fitted to fit. Brian saw his bride for the first time that day as she came down the stairs and greeted him at the landing where the parents gave their children away to be married.

The ceremony was done by a friend from college and was very short and sweet. After the ceremony we proceeded to get more shots of family and finished with the two of them taking them all around the gorgeous place. When we finished they grabbed a bite to eat which was catered by Blue Moon which consisted of salad, beef, grilled chicken, green beans, mashed potatoes and bread. Following they were announced down the grand stair case to enter their reception and start their dance. Blue Eyed Soul was the band that played instead of having a DJ. They were really good! Definitely would recommend them. They played as Melissa and Brian danced their first dance as husband and wife. Then they had the parent's dances where Melissa and Brian danced with each of the parents. After that they cut their cake and toasts followed by friends. Guests all mingled and had a great time. Melissa and Brian had hired a a guy to run a photo booth which was really fun to watch and capture as people would pile in to get some fun pics.

We want to thank you Mel and Brian for having us document your special day. We had a blast and you both along with both families made us feel very welcome. You all were great and we hope you stay in touch.

Saturday, September 13th Jeff and I met up with Melissa and her two bridesmaids, good friend who would be a candle lighter later in the day, flowergirl and mother at Planet Hair Salon in downtown Wichita to get their hair done. Jeff stayed for a bit with me then headed over to the church where the guys got ready and took some pictures before the ladies arrived. Before Melissa left to head over to the Broadview hotel she got her make-up done which was quite a treat because Melissa had never had someone do her make-up for her before. The ladies all looked very nice. The bridesmaids had side pony-tails curled and so did the flowergirl. Melissa's mom had her done in a french twist which was also a treat for her since she said she had never had her hair done and up before. Then it was time for the ladies to go and finish getting ready a The Broadview. Melissa's dress was a strapless chiffon with some beadwork and se quince throughout and laced up the back with a sweep train. The ladies all wore fuschia strapless chiffon material dresses that also laced up the back. I liked the bottom of the skirt where they were T-length but acemetrical. A limo arrived and picked up the ladies to take them on to the church where we did some pics before the ceremony.

Melissa and Colt had decided not to see each other beforehand. Colt was all smiles as Melissa's dad escorted her down the aisle to her groom. After the ceremony they circled through a tunnel of people blowing bubbles and back into the church for some more pictures. Family pictures went fairly quick and then we took them outside around the church and got some outdoor shots. It sprinkled a bit but wasn't bad at all. As everyone says, "It is good luck if it rains sometime on your wedding day."

This didn't let them get in the way of having a good time. We followed the limo downtown to a few shots we did with the wedding party and then go them onto their reception which was held at the Broadview Hotel Ball Room. George with Complete Music performed as the DJ all night and announced them into their party when they entered the ball room. Dinner followed then toasts and cake cutting. The first dances were where Colt and Melissa got to dance their first dance together as husband and wife to Carrie Underwood's "Inside Your Heaven". Then Melissa danced with her dad and following was Colt with his mom. This kicked off the dance floor for everyone to join in and do some DJ dances such as snow ball, the chicken dance and more. Later the bouquet and garter was tossed along with the dollar dance.

Melissa and Colt we want to thank you for allowing us be part of your special day. We hope you have fun in Cancun.

Jeff and I along with "The Cats" (Fat Cat Productions) were on the road to Colorado for a wedding this last Labor Day weekend. We had a blast! We all got to have the great opportunity to work with a sweet couple, Candace and Marcus. Being in a more foreign place we checked out the church, First Evangelical Lutheran, Friday during the rehearsal which was in Longmont, CO.

Saturday Stephanie with FCP, and I drove to Anthony's Salon in Denver, CO where Candace and her six bridesmaids got their hair done. Then we went to the Chateaux At Fox Meadows in Broomfield, CO where the ladies met us, as well as the guys to finish getting ready. Barry with FCP, and Jeff documented the guys as they got ready while Stephanie and I were with the bridesmaids. The guys wore black tuxes with red ties. Candace's colors' were chosen to resemble fall which she definitely accomplished. The bridesmaids dresses were hand-stitched by the mother of the bride. This made it a little tricky when it came to sizing and fittings for most of the girls, as many lived out of state. They did all the fittings by mail and then mailed them back to finish up the last details of all the dresses. They were swirled stripes of red, tan and black. Candace handed gifts out to all the girls in the brides room which were heart shaped jewelry boxes with matching necklaces for the ladies to wear on the wedding day.

Candace's dress was white with lots of beadwork and embroidery and a long train. Once Candace and her bridesmaids were all dressed and ready to go, the bridesmaids delivered a gift to Marcus waiting at the foot of the grand staircase. Inside of the gift there was an engagement photo of them together along with a CD player that all Marcus had to do was hit play and his beautiful bride started her way down the staircase. They both were filled with excitement and happy tears as this was the first they saw of each other on their special day. After taking them around the Chateaux and getting some awesome shots and then doing some family shots it was time to make it back to the church in time for guests to start arriving for the ceremony. The pastor who performed the service was a roommate with Marcus while at KU. This made it extra special for the couple as he knew the couple on a different level other than just a pastor but as a friend to the family, too. After the ceremony guests headed over to the Chateaux for Hor d'Oevres.

Jeff and I finished with family pics at the front of the church before Candace and Marcus were chaperoned to the Chatueax in a 1930's Model Ford. Candace and Marcus had timed it to where as soon as the guests finished Hor d'Oevres they were to go outside with noise shakers and wait for them to pull up out front on the circle drive of the Chateaux. They had a dove release as soon as they got out of the car where they each released one dove and kissed. Following that they released 12 more and then another 12 more in remembrance of guests who weren't able to be there. It was the most gorgeous and elegant thing we have seen a bride and groom ever do. I had always heard of it but it just isn't heard of doing much around here. Two thumbs up guys- great idea! After taking a big large group shot of ALL the guests in front of the Chateaux the guests went inside as Candace and Marcus hung around for some more pics outside before they were introduced with the wedding party down the grand staircase. Following that they had barbeque buffet dinner with hot links, pulled pork and turkey, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, corn bread, and baked cinnamon apples. Can you say "mmmm good!" After dinner they mingled with their guests and then cut their cake which was 9 separate layers on its own pedestal. Shaved chocolate, raspberries and fall leaves gave aura that made for a very beautiful fall looking cake. They then started right into their first dance which was "I'll Always Be Right There" by Brian Adams. Followed was the parents dances where Candace danced with her father and Marcus with his mother. This then opened up the dance floor for guests to enjoy. Later was the bouquet and garter toss and then the money dance.

Jeff and I want to thank Steph and Barry for referring Candace our direction for us to have such a blast documenting Candace and Marcus on their special day together. Also thank you Candace and Marcus for hiring us as your photographers. We had such a fun time and everybody was so nice and welcomed us in and we felt part of the family. If you are ever in the Wichita area you will definitely have to stop in and say hi! And for those that ever go to Denver we highly recommend the Omni Interlocken Resort that we stayed at for our hotel. It was beautiful and had the absolute BEST hospitality EVER that we had experienced!

eXtreme Session!!!!!!
On Sunday we got up close to sunrise and headed to Estes Park and did an eXtreme session with Candace and Marcus in the Rocky Mountain National Park. What beautiful backdrops for photos and video. In all we had a good time and captured some amazing stuff. Meadows with mountains in the background, water falls, aspen trees, and 11,796 ft. at the top where the visitors center was located allowed for many great photo opts. Candace and Marcus were quite the troopers and were patient with us as we Kansan folk aren't used to the altitude. It was all worth it!

10 WEDDING DEBUT SLIDESHOW ARE UP!

Jeff and I started at the salon on Friday Morning (8.8.08) in Hesston at The Cut Above. Morgan with her sisters got ready there as the rest of the girls got their hair done at Hair Designs just a couple blocks away. Brooke, from the Mac Counter, was also at The Cut Above to apply Mac products as make-up for all the girls. Brooke did the make-up for our models in May for the KeepNITFresh Workshop. She does a great job and all the girls looked fabulous. After the salon the girls all headed to the Mennonite Church on the Hesston Campus. Morgan was one of the laid back brides ever but excited and enjoyed her day to its fullest. When she was checking out the sanctuary she saw Luke and said, "Hi how's it going?" I couldn't believe it I was baffled because most brides want to make sure they don't see each other till they have on the dress on the day of their wedding. She said the more she sees him on the wedding day the better. I thought, "What a great attitude!" Her and the ladies got ready in the Nursery. Morgan's dress was a diamond white in color and she found the design at Madeline's in Emporia, KS. It had lots of beadwork along the bodice and on the train. Morgan and Luke had decided to take all pictures beforehand and so we made sure we cleared the sanctuary so they could have their private moment and we documented from a distance. We were able to go outside for some pics of the two of them as well as the wedding party.

The ceremony was an evening wedding that started at 7:30. When the ceremony started guests were seated from the outside in so they didn't go down the center aisle where a cloth white runner and orange rose petals were scattered on the sides. Morgan and Luke's wedding colors were orange and midnight blue. The bridesmaids all wore knee length midnight blue dresses with a sash that went around the waist and tied in the back.

After the ceremony guests gathered outside with bubbles to blow as Morgan and Luke made it to the freshly decorated vehicle that the wedding party all climbed into to head to the reception. The reception was held at the Sand Creek Station in Newton on the golf course. With the sun down we were able to still grab some pics of the couple on the course just before we lost too much light. They had 2 tents as well as an air conditioned building for guests to mingle. As soon as Morgan and Luke were introduced into their party by Scott Ward with Accent Mobile Music they went ahead and ate dinner. After dinner they cut their cake. I remember when I asked Luke if he was going to be nice he said "Yes, I can be nice but doesn't mean I will." And that they weren't but had fun with it. After people were finished with dinner they all headed outside because it was an absolutely gorgeous weather where they continued with the festivities. The toasts were done by the best man, maid of honor, and father of the bride. The garter and bouquet followed and then Morgan and Luke's first dance and parent dances. Later they did the money dance and Karaoke began. Karaoke was kicked off by some of Luke's friends singing to him out in the middle of the dance floor. It was quite comical and Luke was a very good sport.

We want to thank you guys for having us on your special day document the emotional moments, details of your day and have fun hanging out with you guys. We will miss you as you are moving so far away ... Minnesota. We do wish you both the best and please stay in touch! Remember to spoil each other and Buddy. :)

Jeff and I started Saturday at the House of Hair Salon in Delano District downtown Wichita where the four bridesmaids and mothers got their hair done. Kimberly got her hair done first with another and then headed to Beau Monde for make-up. We had been just their a week ago and everyone welcomed us back and are all very nice there. At this time Kimberly had her hair and make-up done, now time to get to the church to finish getting ready in the Rectory which was located behind the church, Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. Kimberly's wedding started at 2:00 and there was already a Quincineta at 9 in the morning and another wedding at 11:00. Jeff was able to take the guys outside at noon and get some shots out front of the church and then from 1:00-1:30 take some shots of Kimberly and the ladies. The ladies all got dressed wearing chocolate floor length taffeta dresses with a toupe ribbon that tied at the waist and matching high heeled shoes. The flowers were done by a friend of Justin and Kimberly which consisted of pale pink roses. The corsages were the most beautiful color of mauve orchids. Kimberly's dress was made from the dress designer Anjolique. I had never seen a dress fastened, zipped and buttoned as this one. Her mom helped her get in her dress starting with the corset then zipped it up the back and then there were buttons that were fastened by a crochet hook.

During the ceremony Jeff documented the wedding party as they came down the long aisle and as soon as the last bridesmaid and groomsmen reached the altar it was time for him to see Kimberly for the first time that day looking absolutely stunning. I can remember as soon as he saw her he took a deep breath of excitement and did a long blink in amazement. Kimberly's dad ushered her down the aisle and handed her to Justin. One event that they will remember as "a memory" was when father was talking and the power went out making the church go darker and his microphone went dead. After going back and flipping a breaker he came back to finish performing the ceremony.

After the ceremony guests grabbed a container of bubbles and lined up on the stairs as Kimberly and Justin made it to the Expedition limo. They drove around the block and then came back to finish up pictures at the church with family and wedding party.

With the reception not starting till 5:00 and they didn't want to arrive till 5:30 this gave us a good amount of time to spend with them do to outdoor photos. It was very hot out, but everybody was very good sports. Close by was the Broadview Hotel who were very generous for us to take some pictures inside their lobby as the wedding party cooled off. With plenty of time to spare Jeff and I headed on to the reception in Andover at the Ville inside St. Vincent de Paul.

We arrived at 5:00 allowing us time to get lots of great details that Kimberly had on the tables. The center pieces consisted of hour glass vases with chocolate and gold decorative balls inside, vases with gold glittery twigs, and vases with pearls and white roses floating. They also had a small box of chocolates tied with a brown ribbon with the letter "F" attached to it. They also had for their guests a CD of music that was special to them for them to take with them. The cake was all white with ribbon between each layer. Instead of a groom's cake they had cookies and then also some cupcakes.

When they arrived the wedding party was announced down the grand staircase and then a slideshow of Kimberly and Justin played before they were introduced as husband and wife. They grabbed a bite to eat and then mingled with guests. Then they cut their cake and the best man gave a forever long speech followed was one from the maid of honor. The first dance they had taken dancing lessons to dance the rumba to "This Year's Love" by David Gray. Kimberly then her father danced followed by Justin and his mother. During the bouquet toss Kimberly tossed off the grand stair case for the ladies to fight for. Then they did the garter toss and after a few songs the dollar dance.

We met Molly and Jordan's mom, Darla, at the January bridal fair earlier this year. Jeff and I remember when she came to our booth and she had said she genuinely wanted us as her wedding photographers. She had seen our portfolio online and seen our blog with different wedding debuts. Once we asked when her wedding date was she heard the hesitation in our voice. Her wedding date was planned in stone for Friday of the set up day of the bridal fair. Jeff and I knew we couldn't do a wedding on the Saturday during the bridal fair. We told her we could document her wedding day and have Brett, our other photographer, along with Alex, our photographer's assistant set up our booth. Molly later contacted us and said she would love it if we could document her wedding. We are very pleased that we did.

We started the day 8 a.m. at the golf course in Hesston where Jordan and five groomsmen played an eighteen hole round of golf. After a few holes Jeff and I headed over to the church in Newton, Grace Community Church where the ladies were getting their hair done at in the nursery. Once three of the seven ladies had their hair done along with Molly's hair they all hopped in a car and went to Beau Monde Spa and Boutique for Molly's make-up to be applied. Then it was time to head back to Newton for Molly and the ladies to get in their dresses.

Molly's dress was a Maggie Sottero with lace and beadwork throughout and a corset back that laced up. Molly's colors were red, brown and aqua. Her details blew me away from the programs handmade, her own monogram, her shoes and bridesmaids shoes, gifts to the bridesmaids and the reception was "AMAZING!". I will get to the reception later down through the write up. Molly and Jordan decided to see each other beforehand and take pictures around Newton and come back to the church for family photos. That is what we did after documenting them seeing each other we went to a field, train depot, small garden and a coffee shop.

As we headed back to the church we saw some rain coming, which by the way is "GOOD LUCK" if it rains on your wedding day! Across the street from the church was a newer golf course where we were able to get some really awesome shots of the two of them. After the family photos Molly and Jordan had plenty of time before the ceremony began, 7:30. The ceremony was very low light and romantic. After the ceremony guests headed over to the hall of the church where the reception took place. They had a fruit and cheese bar, cookie bar, candy bar, fruit tarts and creme puff bar, and the hit of them all was the COFFEE BAR! That was a first to see a coffee bar at a reception. When they arrived at the reception they cut their cake and had their toasts. They also had a slideshow that guests got to enjoy watching. A little after 10:00 they had a grand exit of them leaving through a sea of people with bubbles.

Bridal Expo 2008

We are letting all our Bride-to-Be's and Groom-to-Be's know that we will be at the Bridal Fair located in the Exhibition Hall at Century II this weekend, July 26 & 27. As a studio many of our following year, 2009, will get booked. Please stop by our booth and say hi. For all those who are booked currently with us we look forward to seeing you there! Friday morning Jeff went to cover Dan with the guys as they played Home Run Derby and I went to document Catie as she got her hair done by her mom who was the stylist. When I left the salon, Hair Force, I was able to get to the church, St. Vincent de Paul in Andover, before Catie and the ladies showed up.

Catie had her wedding attire locked up in the bridal room. The lady from the office of the church was kind enough to let me in so I could capture some amazing detail shots of Catie's dress, veil, shoes and necklace. Catie's dress was from the Alfred Angelo designer dresses. It had bead work on the bodice with chiffon material. The ladies all wore chocolate brown and aqua dresses. The guys all had brown tuxes with aqua tie and vests. As soon as Catie arrived at the church she applied her make-up and her mom helped her get into her dress. Catie and Dan had decided to not see each other. We had plenty of time to get pictures of Catie and Dan with the bridesmaids and groomsmen before the ceremony leaving an hour to relax.

Dan played some pool down in the basement as the ladies hung out in the bride's room. Before the ceremony guests arrived and signed the signature guestbook that we designed from Catie and Dan's engagement session. When the ceremony started, the bridesmaids and groomsmen came in opposite doors and met in the middle to walk together down the aisle. Catie was escorted into the sanctuary by her dad and stepdad. Pastor Mike went over how Catie and Dan met and how their relationship grew and still continue to grow. After the ceremony we finished up the family pictures and then did pictures of the two of them together.

The reception was held at the church in The Ville. The DJ announced the wedding party along with a grand entrance of Catie and Dan down the staircase to their reception. The wedding party grabbed a bite to eat and then cut their cake. Their cake was a 4-tiered brown and aqua in color with different designs on each layer. Their cake topper was a upper case cursive "R". Following was the toast done by the best man. After that the dance was kicked off with Catie and Dan's first dance as husband and wife. Catie then danced with her dad along with her step dad and Dan danced with his mom. Catie and Dan seemed to have a great time spending time with friends and family.

Jeff and I got up Saturday morning and drove to Hutchinson, KS for Travis and Megan's wedding. We started at the Headturners Salon where Megan and her three bridesmaids, flower girl and both mothers got their hair done and make-up applied. After they were all beautified the ladies headed over to the church, Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. Megan had found her dress at Davids bridal and it was a strapless with lots of beadwork and sequence throughout. Travis wore a white tux with a navy blue vest and tie. The groomsmen all wore black tuxes and blue vests and ties. The ladies all carried red bouquets. The theme of red, white and blue was carried throughout the day. The wedding rings were very unique. Travis had his grandpa's ring melted down and redesigned using white gold and same design as his grandpa's.

Megan had planned her day to make sure they had lots of time to get pictures of the two of them as well as the wedding party and go to different locations. And that is what we did. After Travis and Megan had their private moment together we went around to different locations including the Fire Station #3 Dept. where Travis works. The few rain showers didn't dampen their spirits. In fact for a July day it was very cool, 65 degrees (Quite a switch from 104 degrees a week ago. But that is KS). With umbrellas and staying out of the rain Megan's hair didn't even move. Sally, the hair stylist, did a good job of making sure it was well hair sprayed. After coming back to the church we finished up family pics and then gave them some time to relax before their guests started to arrive for the ceremony.

After the guests were all seated they had a slide show that played of the two of them growing up. After the ceremony guests grabbed a container of bubbles on the way out and made a path for Megan and Travis to walk through to a 1919 Antique Fire Truck. Travis cranked the siren as they drove off. They rode on it to their reception which was held at the Encampment building on the Fairgrounds in Hutch. The DJ's were Rick and Rondi with DB Extreme who are Travis's aunt and uncle. They announced each wedding party member saying something special about them and how they knew and met Megan and Travis. After being announced they had a bite to eat and mingled with guests before the cutting of their cake.

The wedding cake was tiered, white with red paisleys on it. The groom's cake was a fire engine covered in frosting and it actually made noise too. The fire engine sat beside a white cake that had frosting in shapes of flames on the cake. There was a firefighter climbing a ladder to the top where his wife awaited. It was very unique and fun. When Megan decided to toss her bouquet the little did she know that Travis was going to come in dressed in his fireman gear to take off the garter. Rick, the DJ, had it all planned out to have a puff of smoke fill the dance floor and say, "I think we have a problem! Is there a fire fighter in the room?" This was Travis's que to enter the room dressed in fire helmet, coat and pants. Megan was totally surprised. Rick and Rondi also do one of the best grand marches to start off the first dances. Megan and Travis danced to Amazed by Lonestar with each one narrating their love to one another. Megan then danced with her dad and Travis with his mom. The night continued with people dancing and having a great time.

We want to thank you guys for choosing us as your photographers to document your wedding day. You guys were good sports even though it was rainy. And like you said Megan, "Rain is good luck." We hope you had a safe flight on the plane and got plenty of sleep before getting to spend your honeymoon in Jamaica.

Friday morning Jeff and I traveled just up the road to Newton, KS. Jennifer got her hair done at Gina's Hair Salon on Main Street in Newton not to far from the church, Newton Bible Church. Jennifer had planned her day very relaxed and allowed lots of time to get ready so it wasn't rushed. Her colors were marine blue, silver and accents of red used in the bouquets and boutonniere's. The bridesmaids wore floor length marine blue dresses. Her dress was found at David's Bridal. It was satin with accents of beadwork and a chapel length train.

Jennifer is one of eight sisters who all played a role in the wedding. She had 6 bridesmaids, 2 junior bridesmaids and 2 flower girls. The groomsmen were all dressed in black tuxes with blue vests and ties. Jennifer and Kenton did choose to see each other beforehand to get all the pictures done. We were able to document their special moment together and then we had them hop in our car to go around to different locations in Newton to get some really awesome shots. A few pictures in a field, on the Bethel campus and a unique architecture place were just a few spots that we were able to stop at.

Then it was time to get them back to the church so we could finish up with the wedding party and family. Finishing up pictures an hour before the ceremony allowed plenty of time for both Jennifer and Kenton to grab a sandwich and relax. The ceremony was very romantic with lights and tulle running down each side of the center aisle and candles lit at the front of the church. After the ceremony as guests headed to the church's hall where the reception took place, Jennifer and Kenton gathered with close family members in a room to wait to enter into their reception. Friends and family lined up to get a special desert that was absolutely divine. Each guest got a heart shaped devil's chocolate food cake with chocolate syrup drizzled and powdered white sugar sprinkled over the top. Jennifer and Kenton had a 10 inch round white cake with a monogram of their initials on top. Kenton used a plasma torch to cut a circle with JK on it out of metal. It made for a great cake topper for their wedding. After they cut their cake both the dads did a dedication speech to Jennifer and Kenton saying how proud they are of both of them. Shortly after the speeches Jennifer tossed her bouquet. One cool thing that I learned later in the day was the ceremony was broadcasted over an Apple laptop that sat in the front pew and streamed via IChat. This allowed some of Jennifer and Kenton's close friends who weren't able to make it from Wyoming to watch the wedding.

During the reception Jennifer came up to me and said I will be right back cause they were going to IChat their friends that were in Wyoming. They are very close to Jennifer and Kenton and understood they couldn't make it to the wedding but took the time out to say hi on their special day. I thought that was very cool! They then mingled with guests until the limo arrived to pick them up. Guests grabbed a sparkler and lit them as Jennifer and Kenton made their way to the limo through a shower of sparks.

We're back!!!

Ok so what does that mean. Nothing really we're back! The last 3 weekends we've been on the road traveling for weddings. Tyff and I just got back this afternoon and now get to take a few weeks off from the travel. We still are shooting every weekend just not traveling. Next long distance travel date is end of August when we head out to Denver with our friends from Fat Cat. This wedding is going to ROCK! We are doing one of our eXtreme sessions™ (A.K.A trash the dress) the next day in the mountains, should be a blast. Yes, more debuts will be coming this week as well. With the past weeks being short weeks for us with travel we are a little behind. Sorry about that... :(

Oh yeah, quick note, I wanted to thank all of the photogs for the recent "blog love" about The Knot! We will be in the next issue as well and still waiting to here if we made the Houston one or knot.... get it... Knot, like the magazine. Ok bad joke... yes to much time in the car. Got a run will post again soon.

Jeff and I were out of town this weekend making it the 3rd weekend in a row to be on the road. This weekend's travel had us located in Scott City, KS. We arrived in town a day early to scout out locations and attend the rehearsal.

Saturday morning started with Jeff dropping me off at Renaissance Salon on fourth street before he headed over to the golf course where the guys met up for a round before they got ready later that day. The guys wore black tuxes with green ties and vests. The ladies wore strapless dresses made from a sheer green fabric with an elegant bow that went around the back and tied in the back.

Megan found her dress in Kansas City at a local boutique. One of her bridesmaids had told me her dress resembled what a Princess would wear. It was a diamond white dress with exquisite bead work throughout and gathered around the skirting, with a chapel length train. Megan accented her dress by wearing hot pink high heal shoes which nicely tied in her other wedding color.

The couple had decided to take pictures before the ceremony, so we setup a private first sight moment for them where they exchanged gifts. Megan received a diamond neckless and Aaron a Wii game system. Following pictures of the couple we moved on to the formal group shots and ended allowing them a chance to relax before the ceremony.

As guest entered the church they signed the mat of a framed engagement picture for the couple to hang in their home. There where so many guests in attendance that some of them were seated down stairs where a TV was setup so they could watch from an upstairs video camera. The ceremony started with guests watching a slideshow of Megan and Aaron growing up. Since the couple had been dating for eight years there were a number of pictures. Aaron's brother, Pastor Jason Dirks, presided over the ceremony. Before Megan came down the isle an isle runner was pulled out, revealing a wedding logo, which was used through out the day on programs and decorations at the reception.

Following the ceremony, the couple greeted guest in a receiving line. Once everyone was greeted the couple exited the church in a sea of bubbles which led to a white Ford Excursion limo. We had the limo driver follow us to a few locations, where we grabbed some more pictures of the wedding party and the couple before heading to the reception. The reception was held in a building on the Scott City fairgrounds.

Aaron and Megan made their grand entrance through a tunnel made by the wedding party, it reminded us of watching a sports team entering before the Big Game. The DJ was "Kid Brock" with Muzik Machine. The couple started with cake cutting and then grabbed a bite to eat as the guest had been served while we were shooting at the other locations. They then had toasts where all of the wedding party members had something to share. The first dance started after a few songs played and the parents joined them towards the middle of the song to dance. Megan then danced with her dad and Aaron with his mom. To kick off the dance floor for the night Megan's dad had a special dance that he did and everyone calls him "Snoop Doug" for it. It was great! The whole night was great with a room packed full of friends and family having a great time!

Jeff and I met up with Lindsay and her eight bridesmaids at Ten O Seven Salon in Hays, KS while they got their hair and makeup done. The address to the salon was 1007 Main St. It was a really cool place and probably one of the most unique salons that we have ever been to. The decor was very unique and fun with art on all of the walls. Lindsay got her hair done on the second level of this neat place. She was all smiles all day and very cool, calm and collected.

Her eight friends that she had chosen to be her bridesmaids all made sure that the day started off right with a warm gift from all of them. Breakfast was provided that consisted of fruit, muffins and bagels. Mimosas was what washed the bellies of all the happy girls. After Lindsay's hair and was done and her make-up was applied Stephanie from Fat Cat and I headed to the church. Jeff and I shot a wedding last September at the Cathedral of the Plains in Victoria, KS and we got the opportunity to do so again.

The church has such a great history. Even on the wedding day guests were coming in as tourists just stopping in to see what a beautiful church it is. Lindsay's wedding dress looked very stunning on her. She got it in an Olathe, KS bridal shop, Mia's Bridal and Tailoring. It was an Essence design with beadwork lining the bodice and ruffles on the skirting along with a corset backing that laced up the back. The ladies all wore an energetic lime that was fun. The groomsmen all wore black tuxes, black shirts with the same lime ties. Shawn wore a black tux, black shirt and a white tie. With bright color stargazing lilies, roses and daisies in the bouquets, boutonnieres, and corsages it made for a very colorful event throughout. Lindsay and Shawn did decide to see each other beforehand and we were able to get some really cool shots of the two of the them around the church and then start in on the wedding party and then finished up with the families.

The ceremony started with a string quartet playing the wedding melodies as Lindsay's dad escorted Lindsay down the long aisle to hand off to Shawn. Following the Catholic Mass Lindsay and Shawn were showered with bubbles as they made it through the path of people to a 1964 blue restored Impala. They drove around the block and came back and got into a Trolley with the wedding party as we went to a few different locations including a park with a bridge, Hay's campus and a place called The Que.

It was then time to get them all to their reception which was held at the Fox Pavilion. The reception started with the DJ announcing the wedding party along with Lindsay and Shawn which is what kicked off their first dance and the parent dances following. Dinner was served after Shawn's dad gave the blessing. Following was the cake cutting and toasts. After some dancing the garter and bouquet tosses and then the dollar dance.

Beth's day started at the Holiday Inn Express in Lawrence, KS, where her bridesmaids and her got there hair and makeup done.

The morning started with Jeff meeting up with Karen, our good friend Karen from Heartland Photography, at the Beth's hotel room. Karen was helping to cover the wedding as Tyff was sick and unable to make it. Once at the room Karen started documenting the ladies hanging out while Beth was getting her hair done. Jeff started setting getting the details of the dress, shoes and more before heading over Beth's parents house to document Darrell and the guys getting ready. Beth's brother made the guys French Toast Bake with blue berry's for breakfast. The ladies where picked up at the hotel by a white Hummer Limo and headed to the church around 11:00 for Beth to slip into her dress. The couple had a special first viewing which we captured from a distance to not take away from the moment. Beth's dress was amazing, it was an Anjolique design. The dress was classic and elegant, but had a uniqueness in detail that gave Beth a very distinct look for our special day. Once the tears had stopped after the first sight we worked our way around the church grabbing so amazing shots of the Darrell and Beth.

The ceremony was held at the Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Lawrence, KS. The church was wonderful to shoot in with it's large windows and nice natural light. The ladies all wore aqua blue, strapless, T-length dresses. The guys all wore black tuxes with turquoise tie and vests. Following the ceremony we finished up the group photos and headed with the wedding party over to Potter's Lake on the KU campus. While on campus we took some fun photos of the wedding party and couple.

The limo arrived at the reception site "Steve's Place". The reception was wonderfully decorated with blue and yellow vertical streamers that created a great background and mood. After Beth and Darrell entered the reception and greeted a few guests they made their way over to check out their wedding cake. The cake was beautiful as you can see here.

Darrell's groomsmen where impressed by the groom's cake which had a Mario Brothers theme to it. The cake was made in Kansas City and was the first of it's kind. After dinner the couple proceeded with cake cutting and toasts. The formal dances followed including their first dance and parent dances.

The Vegas Report

What a Crazy start to the year!!! A very good crazy just alot going on. Sorry for the delay on getting this posted, but we were running alot when we got back from Vegas so that we would have things ready to go for the workshop with Mike Colon. Which by the way was Amazing!!! Be sure to check out the video below. Fat Cat did an awesome job on it. Thanks again guys! Be sure to check out the new workshop we have coming up in October with Corey McNabb! He is an amazing photographer with a great passion for sharing his knowledge.

Back to Vegas story: It was great for the studio this year. Brett and I made the trip for the studio this go around as we just had to many things going at once for us all to make the trip. Hopefully next year we all will be able to attend. I was fortunate to be asked by one of our album companies to work their booth for them which was great!

WPPI was cool to meet and talk with the "best of the best" in wedding industry today. Everyone was so laid back and willing to talk. Very different from the midwest market. Hence, our goal of changing that with our workshops. I was able to talk with some of the greatest from Joe Bussink, Jim Garner, Mike Larson, Gene Higa and many others I can't think of right now.

Probably one of the biggest honors and highlights that happend while in Vegas was being invited to dinner by the CEO of Pictage, our online proofing company we use. The dinner was amazing, at the table were Mike and Julie Colon, Me Ra and Brian Koh, Geoff Chesman and Michael Bennett Kress. All amazing photographers and great people!

The day started with Jeff and I meeting Christine and Matt at St. Anthony's in downtown Wichita. Christine with her ladies and family got ready downstairs as the guys got ready upstairs. They chose not to see each other beforehand. Christine's dress was very pretty. While in Europe she found a Justin Alexander design and was able to find a shop in Missouri that had the same dress to order from. Lots of lace and beadwork along with a corset back that laced up the back. She also wore a lacy jacket that had buttons on the sleeves and all the way up the back. One of her briedsmaids used a crochet hook to fasten the buttons. The four bridesmaids all wore lilac purple floor length strapless dresses. The ladies all wore the same shoes as well which were Nina brand with high heels.

We were able to squeeze some photos of Matt and the guys along with Christine and the ladies before the ceremony. When the ceremony started Christine was escorted down the aisle by her father. It was a very beautiful ceremony. Being able to be on the altar off to the side so I wasn't a distraction allowed me to get some really amazing expressions.

Afterwards we finished up pictures of the families then went to a location that was special to Christine and Matt. Down by the river there is a bench where Matt proposed and so we got some shots there of the two of them and the wedding party.

Then it was time to get them to their party. The reception was held at The Hotel at Oldtown. The room was decorated very nicely using the color of lilac throughout. They had a receiving line before dinner was served. Following was the traditional cake cutting, first dances, garter and bouquet toss.

Some Updates on what has been happening:

1. Weddings are in full swing for this year and now quickly booking up 2009!!!

2. Workshop went amazing

With Mike Colon as the teacher and mentor of the class we all were able to learn and now grow our business in the direction it needs to go. Mike was here for 2 days to share his knowledge with all of us. We started the first day out with Mike lecturing about Camera Settings and then went to a few country locations with the one of the bride and groom models. The evening was filled with a bride and groom along with an engagement couple at a carnival riding rides and playing a few games on the runway.

The second day was also another full day filled with more shooting at a historical building and we finished up by our studio with a 1957 black Chevy that one of the model's father owned.

The class was so much fun and Jeff, Brett, Alex and myself all feel like we have gained friendships with the workshop experience within the photography community.

3. Remodeling is finished except for a few last details we want to do before our open house.

4. We have been featured in "The Knot" Missouri/Kansas Fall Winter 2008 on the left side of the spread, page 38 for the Ashley & Adam Kleiber wedding.

5. Gearing up for the next Workshop with Corey McNabb

Saturday May 31st Jeff and I got up and drove to Bartlesville, Oklahoma for Amanda and Gary's wedding. With Gary in the Air Force in South Dakota and Amanda in Oklahoma we had booked them over the phone quite awhile ago. Since we didn't get a chance to do an engagement session it was the first time to meet them and their families. They are a very nice couple and also very talented. They met in Australia while on a trip when they were 9 years old. Years later while in college they met back up again through friends and the rest is history!

The wedding took place in the back yard of a country Victorian home. When guests arrived they gathered under the covered porch and visited before being seated on the lawn. Blue bows were tied to all the white chairs and their programs were slid through the back of the slots of the chairs. The ladies all wore navy with different designed dresses that matched their personalities. They carried a clutch of light blue hydrangeas. Amanda wore a beautiful strapless dress with bead work and embroidery on the bodice and on a slit down the side to the train. Amanda had designed the jewelry that she wore and were her and Gary's birthstones. The necklace was propellers as he was a pilot. She also had designed their rings- so it was very unique and original.

The bride was escorted down the aisle by her father and Gary's eyes were solely on Amanda- it was their first time to see each other during the ceremony. He wore his Air Force uniform. The ceremony was 10 minutes max and we moved around to get many different angles as quickly as possible. After the ceremony, guests gathered under a shaded tree as the couple cut their cake on the gazebo connected to the house. They also shared some bubbly! The cake was three tiered with turtles hugging as their cake topper. The groom's cake had little Australian figurines on it such as a kangaroo, koala, crocodile and more.

Guests then all socialized under 2 white tents outside and ate dinner that was catered by Rib Cage. Jeff and I finished up pictures with the two families and then with the couple themselves. Their videographer, Jim with Captain Video Productions, documented as we took Amanda and Gary around to different locations on the farm. After pictures we got them to their party and they were announced as husband and wife as they danced their first song on the driveway. They then had the father-daughter and mother-son dances. Mingling with friends and family is something they both enjoyed until a few rolls of thunder. They made their way into the house and prepared for the grand exit as the guests made a path in the front lawn to Amanda's dad's Cadillac while it rained down birdseed!

It was really nice to meet you guys and document your special day. We hope you have a blast in Alaska! Stay in Touch!

Jeff and I started at 11:00 a.m. documenting Jessica as she was finishing up her hair at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in the Vice Presidential Suite. She did all her bridal prep there. Holly from Eric Fisher Salon was the hair stylist for Jessica and also did her make-up using MAC Makeup products. Jessica had a smile that didn't leave her face all day! She had planned her day very relaxed and made sure she had time to enjoy it and not be rushed. Jessica's final choice on a dress couldn't had fit her better. It was a Timeless Designer Maggie Sottero Catarina. "The Dress" was a one-piece, strapless with a sweetheart neckline. Embellished lace created the fitted bodice. The Capri taffeta symmetrically fell toward a dramatic side pleat and ended with a chapel length train. The Hyatt Hotel makes a great backdrop for photos and we really took advantage of that.

Around 12:15 with plenty of time to spare Jessica said she was ready to get into her dress because she was so excited to see all of the attire put together. Jessica looked amazing and breathtaking. After wearing her dress for a bit she slipped it off again and enjoyed more time with her friends. Then she got back into her dress and we went downstairs and did a mini bridal session around the hotel. After the bridal pictures, Jeff went and checked in on what the guys were up to. He found them in the Hotel pool having a great time. The guys then got ready in the Presidential Suite. Jake's tux was a gift from his father for him to wear on the wedding day. It was a D. Grant LTD brand and he got it in Salt Lake City, Utah. Inside of the tux was stitched "Tailored Exclusively For Jacob Kailer". Jake's shoes were from designer Mezlan. The lavender wedding color carried throughout from the bridesmaid's dresses to men's vests under their tuxes to the reception.

After doing a photo session with Jake and his four groomsmen, an Artistic Limousine arrived to pick up the bridal party. A black Artistic Town Car arrived as well to take Jessica and her father over to the ceremony taking place at the Asbury United Methodist Church. Asbury was where Jessica grew her faith with Jake as they dated. Jessica's father escorted her down the aisle to her nervous, excited, and full-of-joy groom. They both exchanged vows in happy tears. After the ceremony they were showered with lavender from their guests for a "fake leave". They returned to the church shortly after and we did some family formals up at the front of the church before leaving and taking some pics of the two of them at other locations. On the way over to the Indian Center where their reception was, we stopped at the Keeper of the Plains and took some pics on the bridge
and around the Keeper.

Tyler, with Another Dimension DJ, announced the newlyweds as Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Kailer into their reception. They made their grand entrance down the stairs to the room full of family and friends. Blue Moon Catering had salad, chicken and pork with barbeque, green beans and mashed potatoes. After Jessica and Jacob arrived they cut their cake then went and mingled to thank guests for coming. After dinner both the maid of honor and best man gave their speeches to the bride and groom.

Following was the formal dances including Jessica and Jacob's first dance as husband and wife along with the father-daughter and mother-son dances. It was then announced for everyone to make a circle on the dance floor with Jessica and Jacob in the middle. Jessica's dad had the microphone and sang to them as they danced. Definitely was a tear jerker as it was apparent that Jessica and her dad are so close. The D.J. played a few more songs and the garter and bouquet toss was performed. The dance floor wasn't quiet after that! They really know how to have a good time!

We want to thank you both for letting us be a part of your day. Hope you get to have a blast in Maui and get some time to relax. Even though you guys live all the way in Salt Lake City please stay in touch and stop by when you're back visiting family!

Jeff and I met up with Barry and Steph with Fat Cat Productions to ride together. As Barry and Jeff went to document the guys at the Best Man's house getting ready Steph and I went to Charisma Salon to document Amber, Amber's mom and the bridesmaids get their hair and make-up done. Following we went to Amber's house where the ladies grabbed a quick sandwich and got into their dresses. The bridesmaids dresses wore red with a gathered bodice. Amber's attire was very elegant and she carried the design of her dress throughout her planning of her day.The cake even had a resemblance.

Amber wore an awesome dress by "Bonnie" she found in Minnesota! The bodice wrapped around her with gathered material and sequin accents bordering each panel as they criss-crossed across her and draped down the back of the train! Her jewelry was very unique and one of a kind. It was hand picked by a friend of hers that made it. The bracelet had a diamond that had been passed down through the family for many years. It was all contained in a shadow box before she was to wear it. Her shoes tied at the ankles with a bead of jewels that wrapped at the ankle. As soon as all the ladies were ready we traveled downtown near the Hotel at Oldtown where Jeff and Amber saw each other for the first time.

After grabbing some photos there we all followed over to 29th and Webb at a fire station where Jeff works. The wedding party all scattered around the fire engine as we documented. Before leaving we grabbed some awesome photos in some nearby prairie grass. Then it was off to Nativity Pines where the ceremony and reception would take place. The ceremony started at 6:00 on the patio and family pictures followed. With not a cloud in the sky and no wind it turned out to be a beautiful day. Scott Hays with All World Entertainment announced the wedding party along with Amber and Jeff into the reception hall. To kick off the events of the evening the couple cut their cake and dinner followed.

The toasts were started by the father of the bride and then each bridesmaid and groomsmen all spoke. The evening continued with the formal dances and then the toss of the garter and bouquet. After a few of the tables were cleared the party started. And party is what they did! Amber and Jeff left through a path of sparklers that the guests held as they made their way to their car.

Hi everyone just wanted to drop a quick line while Mike is teaching. Yep that's right its workshop time! Sorry for the delays in our blog updating lately we've been running like crazy to get the studio and all of the details ready for the workshop. A BIG thanks to all of our family and friends for their amazing support and help in getting ready for this. A special thanks goes out to my Mom who designed and put together all of the flowers for the workshop; they look killer! Her shop's name is The Wild Geranium and the website address is www.mywildgeranium.com I will be taking over her site design in the coming future so remember to check back to see the redesigned site.

I have a post about Vegas that I've been meaning to post for awhile now. I'll work on getting it up once the workshop is wrapped up this week. But lets just say Vegas was soooo Cool.

Also want to give our friends at Fat Cat a special thanks for shooting some of the workshop. We will have a little trailer to show in the future. And of course a Huge thanks to Mike for the plug on his blog today, you can check it out by clicking here.

Jeff and I went out to Great Bend, KS Friday night to the rehearsal and also check out the town since we never had photographed in Great Bend before. Tiffany's wedding day started at the salon on Saturday with her bridesmaids, and coordinator who was a dear friend from college. After the salon the ladies all went to the church to finish getting ready and get their make-up applied. There was a Mary Kay consultant who did all the make-up. Tiffany is also a Mary Kay consultant so she definitely had a good connection. The ladies got ready in the Parlor as the guys got ready in the basement and played poker. Deanna and Jason from Today for Tomorrow Productions were the videographers who we met up with at the church.

The ladies all wore very beautiful dresses that were white and lime green. They were very colorful and fun. The skirting was gathered and was floor length. Tiffany's dress was from the Mori Lee Collection. Bands of crystal beaded embroidery trim the strapless neckline and dropped waistline with an intricate design overlaying the bodice. The skirting was also gathered which tied in the bridesmaids dresses very nicely and where the gathered material met with the skirting there was elaborately embroidered hemline and chapel length train. Tiffany looked absolutely stunning.

Josh and Tiffany had chose not to see each other before teh ceremony so we did as many pictures before hand as possible then finished up after the ceremony. They were married in Trinity Lutheran Church. Josh and Tiffany are High School sweethearts and also went to college together at Bethany. And referenced to later in the toasts, the best man said "Finally!" They have been together for a long time. Josh is ornery and Tiffany is one of the sweetest people any one would ever meet.

After the ceremony Tiffany's mom, Tina, had a surprise for Tiffany and Josh as they exited the church. The guests all lined up along both sides of the sidewalk and blew bubbles and had clappers to make noise along with some people who had poppers full of streamers. At the end of the parted sea of people a horse drawn cinderella buggy awaited with a grey horse named Blossom. They drove around the block and came back the church for more pictures. Then after leaving the church we followed Tiffany and Josh to the High School Football Field where the Panthers play. They have a really nice field! We got some cool pics of the wedding party lined up in formation. No real tackle was performed but all had a great time. Then since Josh's dad is a fireman we drove over and got some pics of the wedding party on the fire engine. The wedding party then headed to the reception which was at the Elk's Lodge and we folowed Tiffany and Josh to a couple more locations to get some more shots of the two of them. They met the carriage in front of the court house where they were then transported on to the reception arriving as people hooped an hollered when they got out of the carriage.

They made their grand entrance with the announcer from Complete Music as their DJ. They started right into cake and then dinner followed. They had some time to mingle before the toasts started and then led right into the grand march to start off the formal dances. Their grand march took them around outside and back into their reception hall. The evening was filled with lots of fun and dancing.

We want to thank you guys for having us as your photographers on your special day. You guys were really great and fun to be around and we had a great time! Hope you have a blast in Cancun and get a chance to relax and have fun!

We met up with Tara and Jason along with the wedding party at St. Anthony's Catholic Church. When Tara arrived she did her hair and a few touch ups to her make-up and then she was ready to get into her dress. It was very simple but elegant with a veil that was floor length. The bridesmaids dresses were black and there was a different design for each girl. The flowers were three shades of pink roses clutched in a bouquet. The guys wore black tuxes and pink vests and ties. Tara and Jason had chose not to see each other before-hand and so we were able to grab a few before guests started to arrive. The ceremony started at 12:30 and was very unique and rare. It was a Latin Mass and lasted till a little after 2:00. A Latin Mass hadn't been done in the Wichita Diocese for over 40 years so it was definitely a treat. Bishop Conley performed the service. He had just been to our studio to do some headshots because he is moving to Colorado and they needed a photo of him to go in each of the Catholic Schools in CO. Tara and Jason are probably one of the last weddings in Kansas that he did before leaving in May. Even though the wedding was longer, it had it uniqueness about it.

Following the mass the family all came to the front for pictures with Tara and Jason. After wrapping up the photos at the church we had some time to spare to go around and get some shots of Tara and Jason before heading to the reception. The reception was in Haysville at The Studio. They had it decorated very nicely. The caterers were Ray's Countryside Catering. The DJ was Steve Walsh with Advanced DJ. The wedding cake was a white, three tiered cake with a silver iced ribbon that went around it resembling a package. The groom's cake said PING for golf. As soon as they arrived they cut their cake and ate dinner. After dinner they watched a slide show and did the toasts. Both Tara's and Jason's father spoke congratulating them and how proud of them they were. When Tara's father spoke he brought up different Veterans who have served in the war or those that are still over in Iraq. It was a very touching moment for both families as lots of the people in the crowd either had someone who is over there now or have already been. Tara and Jason then started off the dancing with the Grand March which ended with them dancing their first dance as husband and wife with a circle of friends and family around them. They danced to "I Cross My Heart" by George Straight. Then they had the parents dances with Tara dancing with her dad and Jason dancing with his mom. The night was filled with lots of fun filled moments.

We hope you guys have a blast in St. Thomas. You guys were great to work with and we got lots of pictures. Stay in Touch!

Jeff and I met up with the ladies on a very nice beautiful morning 8 a.m. at the W-Salon Group (former Wilbern Salon). Leah is a stylist there and they are remodeling the place. The ladies all had the salon to themselves. With three stylists doing all the ladies hair they were done in no time. Leah did her mom's hair after her's was finished. About 10:30 the guys started to arrive at the church all ready and dressed in their tuxes for pictures. As Jeff was taking pictures I was over in the Parish where the ladies finished getting ready putting on their dresses and applying make-up. One of Leah's friends she met while living in Colorado came from Nashville, TN to be a part of Leah's wedding and did Leah's make-up. Leah received a gift from Brad when she arrived at the church. It was a tiny little box with diamond earrings inside. She was impressed he took note when she mentioned in a passing conversation that "It sure would be nice to have a new pair of diamond earrings to wear for the wedding day". (Two thumbs up Brad, Good Job!)

Leah's dress was a Maggie Sottero with a sweetheart neckline, sweep train and laced up the back. After a tough decision to what pair of shoes to wear she chose white with pink polka dot high heels. They were adorable and fun to go with Leah's personality. The ladies wore fuschia tapered T-Length dresses with V-Neck and back lines with silver high heels. Leah's flowers were white Lillies and Stephanotis with green grass stems as filler. The bridesmaids carried a single long stem white lilly with the stem braided with navy ribbon. The guys all wore black tuxes with navy blue vests and ties.

Leah and Brad had decided not to see each other beforehand so we got as many pictures done as possible. The ceremony was held at St. Jude Catholic Church. It was a very pretty mass and I was glad where I was able to position myself so I could get some good facial expressions. Afterwards we finished up with pictures at the church and then followed Leah and Brad to a new housing development where they wanted some pictures along the lake in the sand. We are so glad we went, we were able to get some really amazing shots.

We then headed back to the church where the reception was held. Ron Brown with Another Dimension was the DJ and he announced them into the room. They started right into dinner which was catered by Corporate Caterers. It was good food as always. They then had the toasts started by the Maid of Honor Kate, sister to Brad, and Best Man, one of Brad's friends. They had a wedding cake and different types of brownies to serve as dessert. They then danced to Etta James' "At Last" for their first dance as husband and wife. Everyone seemed to have a good time.

Thank you guys for having us as your photographers to document on your special day. We hope you have a blast in Mexico on your honeymoon.

Jeff and I started at The Platinum Salon 8 a.m. where Jessica along with some of her bridesmaids and mother got their hair done. When arriving, Jessica was surprised to see Stephanie with Fat Cat Productions (FCP) there to document. At the time of booking FCP she didn't have salon coverage in her package. As Janet, Jessica's mother, knew it was very important for her so she made it a surprise to her daughter and paid a little extra. Janet also made sure breakfast was there that she made- breakfast casserole. A previous bride, from the Close-Wilbert wedding last July, was the make-up artist for the ladies. As people finished or were waiting to get their hair done Melissa applied make-up. Jace, Melissa's husband, is a cousin to Jessica. While the ladies were all preparing, Jeff and Barry were back at the church as the guys got ready. With an early start to the day the guys got their pictures done first.

Jessica had a beautiful up do with rhinestone barrette that was placed just above where the veil went in the back. After all the ladies had up do's they headed over to St. Francis of Assisi where the ceremony would later take place and where the ladies finished getting ready. Jessica's dress was strapless with lots of beadwork on the bodice to the hips and sprinkled the train. There was diamond shaped jewels on it- one was in the back and one in the front where the satin swooped around on the hips. The bridesmaids wore black fitted floor length skirts with a lace bodice.

The shoes for all the ladies were all specially picked. Jessica had seen on our website one of the photos Jeff took while in California of a bride that wore red shoes. After seeing those photos she said that she had to do the same for her wedding day. Not only did she make sure she had red shoes but all her bridesmaids wore red shoes also. The two little flower girls wore red sparkling slippers as well. The guys all wore black tuxes with red ties and vests. All the fresh flowers were arranged by Jessica's mom. They were all done in deep reds with a hint of orange and yellow.

Jessica was very excited all morning and described how excited she was that the day was finally here and that she was getting married!!! She couldn't wait to see Andy. They had chosen to see each other for the first time before the ceremony so they get all the pictures done beforehand. They both were filled with excitement and joy. Andy even told Jessica's dad before Jessica came and tapped him on his shoulder that he was a "tiny bit" nervous. It almost always brings me to happy tears when I see our couples see each other. It is also very rewarding to know the memories we capture and it is a privilege to document. After their first viewing we took them around the church and outside for some shots before coming back to the sanctuary to finish up the group shots.

The ceremony began at 1:00 with the groomsmen ushering in the bridesmaids, 2 flower girls following, then Jessica and her dad. It was a traditional Catholic wedding with a mass. The bride's father Gino shared the readings and a string quartet performed along with the organist. After the ceremony, the wedding party along with Jeff, Steph with FCP and myself hopped onto the trolley and it took us to Sedgwick Co. Park where we were able to get some shots of Jessica and Andy with the wedding party and some more shots of just the two of them.

We then headed back to the church where the reception was being held in the hall. The room was very well decorated by Janet, Jessica's mom, and Audra, Jessica's sister, who also helped. All the tables had beautiful arrangements of flowers and the family tables had unique lamps on them. The burgundy lamps were battery operated and the pedestal to it was a glass vase with more flowers and fish swimming in them. Chocolate Cascades was there to run the chocolate fountain and they also had a snack bar that consisted of chex mix, cheesy puff balls and gold fish crackers. Steve Walsh was the DJ who did a great job keeping people out on the dance floor.

A surprise to Jessica's parents was a gift that was a shadow box with their wedding memorabilia, for it was their wedding anniversary on the same day.

Jessica and Andy are going to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico for their honeymoon. Take lots of photos and we would love to have you share some with us when you get back. You guys are a great couple and we had fun documenting your special day. Remember to stay in touch! One of the many comments from Jessica on her wedding day was, "Why only wear the dress once?" One good reason to wear it again would be an extreme session! :) Just a thought.

Ashley and Ivan... Fun! Loving! Caring! These three qualities really sums up a lot of who Ashley and Ivan are as people and so much more. You probably have seen or heard of "The Green Buses" in town that say Unified Party Bus on them. That is the creation and successful business that Ivan started. Ashley is probably the most kindest girls you will ever meet. She does some missionary work in Africa. In fact Ivan had to make Ashley's proposal very memorable. While Ashley was over in Africa she got a surprise visit from Ivan. She said she was very surprised to see him but still had no clue the reason for him to fly half-way around the world to see her was to ask her to marry him. It was perfect! Ivan and Ashley wanted their wedding day to be very unique in many different ways. One of which was they were the first to have a reception on the top of the Gander Mountain Parking Garage in a white tent.

Friday Jeff, Alex and I started at the salon. Ashley, along with friends and family, arrived by a white stretched limo at Planet Hair Salon to get their hair done. Then the ladies all hopped back into the limo and went to Westlink Christian Church where they did last details to make-up and put on their dresses. Ashley's dress, as she described, was simple. Evan though it was simple it was very elegant and timeless. The dress was ivory in color with an organza A-line and ribbon detail. Ashley wore a spray of pearls in her hair that her mother made for her. The girls all wore mis-matched styles that all were tea-length and chocolate mocha. The girls all looked very pretty.

Ivan and Ashley had chosen to see each other before the wedding and get all the pictures done beforehand. Ashley was very excited to see Ivan. At the time they had their private moment with one another Ivan had a surprise gift to give to Ashley. It was a ring. Not her wedding ring but another ring for her to wear to remember this special day by. As we were finishing up the group shots we get a phone call from Brett asking if he could come help. So not only did we have Alex and ourselves, now there were 4 of us documenting from different angles. Brett was also able to go over to the tent at the reception location and grab some detailed shots of the tent before guests arrived.

The ceremony was very beautiful with candles lit and dimmed lights giving a very warm atmosphere. The sanctuary was very full. As guests came in to be seated they walked by a "M" (for Moore) monogram made out of white and yellow rose petals. The unity candle was "handmade" by Ashley and Ivan. It was a bright pink mold of their hands formed together to make a heart shape.

After the wedding Ivan's dad drove up to the church in one of the flat nose green Party Buses. As Ashley and Ivan came out of the church handfuls of rose petals rained over them. Jeff and Alex hopped on the bus and documented the excitement and celebration. They went over to the Hyatt Regency where they were able to grab a few pics and then as the wedding party rode over on the bus to the reception, a golf cart was delivered and Ivan, Ashley, Jeff and Alex hopped on to arrive at the reception.

The tent was packed with only standing room left for guests to cheer as Ivan gave Ashley a piggy back ride into their reception. Ivan had his green and brown cowboy boots on and Ashley had bright green slippers on. They went through the sea of people and made it to the cake table where they shared their first desert together as husband and wife. Lets just say they got each other pretty good with frosting. The wedding cake was very unique using chocolate colors and green. The groom's cake was the round logo of The Unified Party Bus. After the cake were the toasts and shortly afterf were the formal dances with the two of them together and then the parent dances.

Ivan made the dance with his mom special, as during the middle of the song they broke out and sang together a song that was special to them.

Some of the best vendors that we enjoy to work with were there. The dinner was served buffet style by Corporate Caterers that lined both ends of the tent and a bar in 2 corners. Tinley's crew with Jubilations did a great job decorating and making sure everything went smoothly. The whole AMM crew was there for the entertainment.

The night went on with guests mingling and dancing having a great time. Lets just say the whole top of parking garage was bouncing with everyone dancing (literally). We had a great time and please both of you stay in touch!

We had the great opportunity to work with a past client of ours. We had done Ashlae's senior pictures a few years back and then about a year and half ago she contacted us to do her wedding.

The ladies all started at Beauty First for hair. It was a nice surprise to see another past client of ours when we arrived and saw who was going to Ashlae's hair. We had done a progressive session with Laura not to long ago with Taryn. So that was cool. Ashlae also got her make-up done there as well. Jeff and I left from the salon and headed over to the Grand Chapel and got some details of the dress, shoes and jewelry before both Ashlae and Steven got there. As soon as Ashlae arrived she was very excited and very pleased with how everything was decorated. With the reception also there she went downstairs to see the cake which was very nicely decorated. Then it was time for her to start getting ready. She helped her sisters put on make-up and their dresses before she was assisted by her mom and bridesmaids to get into her dress. With her dress being a zip she was through the tunnel of tulle, jewelry and shoes on in no time. Her dress was very beautiful with a satin cuffed bodice and full tulle skirt embellished with sparkling beads with a chapel train. She had found and picked it out at David's Bridal. The four bridesmaids all wore an azalea in color spaghetti strap long chiffon dress with beaded empire waist. The flowers arranged by Stems using very vibrant array of pink and white gerber daisies. Greenery and pale pink roses were used as filler. Ashlae had the same but with the most beautiful pink stargazer lilies. The two flower girls looked adorable with tulle to resemble Ashlae. They carried little white satin baskets filled with pink rose petals. The ring bearer looked as cute as can be in his little tux. The men all looked very stunning wearing black tuxes and pink ties.

The ceremony began at 6:00. The light coming in through the sanctuary was a perfect illuminate atmosphere. Steven's eyes were on his bride the whole time as she came down the aisle smiling ear to ear.

After the ceremony we did pictures of the families and then wrapped it up with pictures of them. Around 7:30 Ron Brown with Another Dimension announced them into their reception. Ashlae and Steven had a bite to eat then followed with the traditional cake cutting, toasts and first dances. Their first dance was "Me and You" by Kenny Chesney. They also had a money dance where everyone came up and danced with them and got to congratulate them as husband and wife. When Ashlae and Steven left they had a limo awaiting them. As coming out of the chapel they were directed to go first to see their decorated car which brothers helped out in. Powder, vaseline, tulle, pink rose stuck to the front of the car and more...

We want to congratulate you guys on your life together and wish you many years of happiness.

Vegas

Sunday Jeff and Brett got on the plane to go to Vegas. And no, not to gamble but to go to WPPI (Wedding Professional Photography International), a big photography convention. About 10,000 photographers from all over the world get together and have a great time. All types of vendors are there too at the HUGE trade show. WPPI's website couldn't say it better. "It's all about education, networking, the biggest trade show in professional photography and FUN! You can learn and still have a good time—after all, it's Vegas!"

Alex, Netanya and I are holding down the fort while you are gone.

HAVE A BLAST! Can't wait to hear all about it when you get home.

Weather Gone Wild... an interesting trip back

Sunday marked a long journey back from an amazing weekend spent covering the Bronson - Baba wedding in Houston, TX. As Jeff and I set out for home we continued to notice the joyous drop in temp the further north traveled. When we left it was a wonderful 80º degrees in Houston and as we stopped in Norman, OK to grab a bite to eat it had dropped to 67º degrees. While we were eating we overheard some other customers talking about that there was bad weather heading our way. So after leaving the restaurant we quickly found a radio station with the weather.

The closer we got to Oklahoma City the lightening started to intensify and before we knew it the storm was right over us. About that time the wonderful announcement came over the radio that Oklahoma City now was under a tornado warning and anyone traveling on I-35 north between mile marker 138 and 143 should take cover immediately. Yeah, guess what mile mark we just pasted while traveling on I-35 north! Yep it was 140 and the hook echo was suppose to be right above us. Of course it was pitch dark so we couldn't see anything. We just had passed an Exit with places to go for cover if we needed to. This was when we knew we had to get out of the line of weather. We quickly made the worlds fastest u-turn to head south to an exit we had passed where we could find shelter.

The next Exit we came to we saw a Days Inn so we got off at that Exit. As we pulled up to the hotel the tornado sirens were going off!!!! The only thing we could think of is grab the media cards and laptop that had our wedding on from Houston. Running into the lobby the receptionist had a blank stare on her face and wasn't sure what to do. I said where do we go to take cover from the weather? She didn't give a straight answer. Being a Kansan, my first instinct was to look for a bathroom which was near by. The weather was on the TV in the lobby as us and other travelers stayed tuned to where the storm was. I was clueless... to what the weather man was talking about because I am not familiar with Oklahoma's little towns. Thankfully some of the travelers were from Oklahoma and reassured us the tornado was close but not going to hit our exact location! About that time TV station signal went dead and of course that was scary. The rotation dropped to the ground in Mid-city which was within 1-5 miles away. Just a little too close for our taste!!! After waiting for all to clear we made the decision after driving all day to just stay the night and finish the last leg of the trip in the morning. In the morning we left to blowing snow with the highs around 30º degrees.

We had a blast in Houston with both sets of family and friends of Tracy and Nidal (Nick). We went to the rehearsal Friday night and there was a huge party afterwards with a big reception as the rehearsal dinner. On Saturday morning Jeff took me to the Norris of Houston Salon and Day Spa where the ladies got their hair done. Jeff went to the church where he met up with one of Nick's cousins to go to Nick's parents house. This is where Nick's parents had a big celebration of the giving away of their son. This is a traditional celebration in the Arabic culture. Lots of food, family and friends. Dancing and singing filled the air. Jeff documented Nick along with family and friends spending time with one another before the guys had to start heading back to the St. George Orthodox Church for the ceremony.

With some combinations of different hair styles that Tracy had magazine clippings of her hair looked very elegant and chic. I got a ride over with Tracy as we went to her apartment to have the ladies finish getting ready. We pulled up to her apartment complex and the concierge took care of the car as we went up to the 15th floor where Tracy's den is. Trays of sandwiches and fruit were there for the ladies to eat lunch in between getting their make-up applied and their dresses on. Andrea Rohleder, a previous bride client of ours, did the make-up for Tracy using Bobbi Brown. The five bridesmaids wore indigo blue strapless with gatherings around the bottom. Fuschia sashes went around the waist and tied on the right side. Tracy wore a very elegant Sposa by St. Pucchi wedding gown from Now and Forever Bridal Shop. It had a sweetheart neckline with a mermaid fitting that had a small flare out and gatherings at the bottom. It had a chapel length train. She had a blusher for a veil along with a floor length one as well. Along the edges of the veil were beadwork and embroidery.

As soon as the ladies were dressed we were out the door and heading downstairs where the limo awaited to take us to the church. The church was very decorative with paintings on the walls and murials on the ceiling. Toulle lined the pews along with floral arrangements and a white runner ran down the center aisle. The groomsmen ushered the bridesmaids down to the altar where they awaited for Tracy and her dad to come down with all eyes on the bride as she looked absolutely stunning. Tracy's dad lifted the blusher following a kiss and hug as she handed over his daughter to Nick. The ceremony was very pretty as light filtered in through the stained glass and had all the traditional customs of the Orthodox faith with everything happening in three's. Following the ceremony the couple was showered with biodegradable white rice, and then we went back into the church as we did group shots and finished up with the two of them.

The limo transported the wedding party with the couple to the Westin Galleria Ballroom where the reception took place. The ballroom was filled with huge chandliers and the tables were all nicely decorated with tall arrangements of flowers in the center of every other table. Blue lights illuminated the vases to give a great glow and added atmosphere to the room. The wedding cake was very pretty being 5 tiers with the cake topper made by Andrea's mom using their initials, TBN. The groom's cake was chocolate 2 layer cake with sticks of shaved chocolate.

The wedding party was announced into the ballroom with Tracy and Nick following. As they entered the dance floor this kicked off the party started with their first dance song sang in Arabic that lasted 20 minutes. With 500 guests surrounding the couple to congratulate them the dance floor got filled with a sea of people. We were able to jump up on the platform where the head table was and shoot down. The videographers from Sawa Cinematography Production had a crane that they used non-stop throughout the reception to fly over the guests and get high enough to see the couple when they were dancing. Dinner had many courses and consisted of a bread bowl and onion soup, salad and the main course which was a very thick juicy steak, biggest shrimp we have ever seen and mashed potatoes. The DJ played background music as the guests ate. During most of the dances a live band played Arabic music and the same guy sang throughout. I have never seen people dance so much in my life to such long songs. The DJ played a mixture of Country, Polka and Pop songs. Everyone had a really good time celebrating the marriage of Tracy and Nick. Towards the end we watched the friends and Baba family pick up Nick on their shoulders and danced around. Nick requested that they go get Tracy and they went and picked her up with her sitting in a chair. This was all part of the Arabic traditions.

We want to thank both families making us feel so welcome and we really feel blessed by all our brides. We want to thank Andrea and Craig Rohleder for giving us the opportunity to do their wedding that led us to do one in Houston with Tracy, Craig's cousin. We want to also thank Nick's cousin for giving Jeff a ride to and from Nick's parent's house. I want to thank the ladies for letting me spend time with them and hang out making me feel like one of their old time friends. We took lots of pictures!!!! They should all be up by April 1st (for real not April Fools). You guys were really great and we hope you have a great time in California on your honeymoon getting to see the beautiful wine country. In May don't forget about us when you go to Greece and send us pics or a postcard. Please stay in touch.

What we've been doing!

Greetings everyone. Sorry for the big blog delay. As you can imagine we've busy as normal. The remodeling and the new studio is coming along great. We are so excited to have it all finished in time for our BIG workshop coming in May with Mike Colon. This will be a great networking time and learning for any photographer wanting to grow there skills as well as their business. We've still got 2 seats available for any of the photogs that checkout our blog. It's not a problem we like to check fellow photog blogs out as well. Also we are hosting a second workshop coming in October. This workshop is going to be a 4 day intensive with 2 days of Corey McNabb and 2 days with .... Still can spill the beans just yet but we are working on a great team mate for Corey.

The coming weeks hold a lot of travel to T&J. In March Brett and Jeff will be heading to Vegas to attend WPPI convention. A sweet bonus is I've been asked to work a trade show booth for our favorite album company. Plus they will be featuring some of our albums at the show to inspire other photogs.

Other things Tyff and I have been up to is starting a new company.... Yeah smart idea with all the free time we have. I know, but this is a great service we are offering to fellow photogs and anyone running a business.

Ok so what is it? The name of our new company is Integrative Ideas, LLC. The service website allows vendors to create custom registries for there own products and services. Yes, we are using it with T&J right now. We've been developing it for over 2 years, and are tweaking little things here and there as we get feedback from our vendors. The website is www.buildaregistry.com. Something Tyff and I have tried to do since starting T&J Studios is to allows find a way to give back. The same rules apply for our new biz venture. We will be donating a portion of the proceeds generated by the use of the registry service to support the fight against Leukemia. Over the past year this cause has become very personal for Tyff and I as my Dad was diagnosed last year. He is doing great and are so glad they found it early.

Well off to sleep for our Houston, TX wedding tomorrow. We will try to post some pics from the wedding Sunday on our way back to Kansas. Talk to everyone later.

We set out on Wednesday for our destination wedding in Houston, TX. We stopped on the way and stayed in a little town, Coriscana, TX then drove onward till we got to Houston. With our GPS we borrowed from Jeff's dad we arrived in Houston around 4:30. Oh, the reason for the long trip... 1st is for our wedding we are documenting on Saturday, 2nd to get away and out of KS for a little while (Jeff and I haven't had a vacation since our honeymoon (5.75 years ago), and third a chance to see the ocean together.

Thursday we drove to Galveston, TX and got some fun shots along the beach. There was "One" crazy surfer we watched and documented. With it being a windy day the waves were definitely up. Along the beach parkway we spotted a Ben & Jerry's Ice-Cream parlor, so we definitely had to grab some ice-cream. Jeff got his favorite, Vanilla in waffle cone, and my favorite, Coffee with Chocolate chunks.

As the sun started to set we thought we better head back to Houston to our hotel where we had reservations set at the Hampton INN. On our way back we grabbed some killer shots of the sunset. If anyone reading this knows anything about Houston or experienced driving in the traffic knows that it is nuts. The roads are like what you would see in a futuristic sci-fi movie intertwined and loopy. This is why we were really glad we had borrowed the GPS. We liked it so well we had to have the toy to own. Only a block away from our hotel there is a Circuit City and so we stopped. Yep, you guessed it Jeff had to have it and so we did find one of the Garmin's on sale.

Later after we watched our favorite TV show, LOST, we headed out to find something to eat. After 2 strikes because the places closed at 9 p.m. we finally found our destination at Maggie Rita's Bar and Grill. Highly recommended and suggest only ordering 1 meal for 2 people to eat. Jeff and I both are super stuffed! They had great service too! We will see what tomorrow holds. The only thing we have on the calendar is to make sure we are at the rehearsal by 6:15 p.m.

Saturday, February 2, 2008 Jeff met the ladies at the Bride, Amber's, house to capture them getting their hair done. Along with getting their hair done they wrapped favors for their guests that consisted of Lamar's Doughnuts. This was special to them because they always would bring doughnuts to each other when dating. I later went to St. Elizabeth Anne Seaton where the ladies finished hair and make-up. Brett also met us there at the church and that was a huge help with Jeff and I were under the weather. He was able to get those candid shots that are timeless. Amber wore a very sleek wedding gown with a sweatheart neckline, embellished with swarouski crystals and a chapel length train. The bridesmaids wore deep plum colored dresses with V-Neck and back that were floor length. Amber was very excited to see Krister, but she wanted to wait till the ceremony. Amber's dad escorted her through the big doors when the ceremony started. Krister was all eyes on Amber.

The ceremony was celebrated by both Father Billinger and Father York. After the ceremony we finished up with pictures in the sanctuary and then proceeded to the Church's Hall where the reception took place. It was a very packed room full of Amber and Krister's family and friends. The cake was white with deep purple flower petals sprinkled over it and the groom's cake had Batman and the Batmobile on it. Following the cake cutting dinner was served buffet style by Corporate Caters which consisted of a Mexican theme. Following dinner the dance kicked off with the couple's first dance and then the parent's dances. The energy was definitely in high gear with all of the guests on the dance floor. The entertainment was provided by Ron Brown with Another Dimension. We were able to sneak Amber and Krister outside shortly after the sun went down to grab some shots using only the natural light under the Bell Tower. Then we got them back to their party before any guests even knew they were gone.

Everyone had a great time and later talking with Ron Brown he said that Krister and Amber danced till they dropped. Krister and Amber, we want to thank you both for letting us be the ones to document your wedding day. You both are super sweet and we hope you had a blast in Hawaii and make sure you stay in touch.

Last Friday we drove to Kansas City to check out the church that Stacy and TJ were going to get married in on Saturday. This was the first rehearsal that I had seen so many vendors for the wedding day attend. She had a church coordinator, Michelle, as well as a hired wedding coordinator, Leslie, which were very helpful. Ron Ruth with Ron Ruth Entertainment who was going to be the DJ for Stacy and TJ's reception attended along with the Florist Marilyn and William of "Wild Geranium" (Jeff's parents), and Barry and Stephanie with Fat Cat Productions. Ron Ruth had an itinerary for all the bridal party and where they were to be during the reception so there were no surprises on their part. There were surprises for the guests but you will have to keep reading to find that out.

Saturday morning 9 a.m. started with us going to the 9th floor of the Hampton Inn Room 911, The Plaza Suite, where we think we woke up Stacy. Sorry Stacy if we did...This is where the bridesmaids, mothers and flower girl got their hair and make-up done. Afterwards they got to enjoy in some sandwiches that were provided by Panera Bread. About 12:30 Stephanie and I headed over to the church where Jeff and Barry had already beat us to capture the guys getting ready. The ladies all slipped into their red dresses. All the bridesmaids wore dresses with different designs which matched their personalities which was very sleek and sophisticated. Valerie, Stacy's mother, helped Stacy get in her wedding gown which was a champagne in color with a trace of beadwork on the bodice and on the train. She had a floor length veil that overlaid her train very beautifully. Stacy's dress was from the Bellissima Couture Collection, Ophelia. Once Stacy was all dressed she got a letter delivered to her from TJ. It was a very emotional moment for Stacy and lots of happy tears were shed. With her leaning her head back and mother along with bridesmaids assisting her dabbing away the tears to make sure the make-up didn't run. Shortly after is when I went to check to see if TJ was ready to see Stacy and have their private moment together seeing each other for the first time. Both Stacy and TJ looked absolutely stunning and gorgeous. After doing their photo session with the two of them we rolled into the pictures with the wedding party and then both families. About 3:10 we, Stacy and TJ, wedding party, Stephanie, Jeff and I, hopped onto the limo bus that took us to the plaza for some "Quick and Cold" pictures of them. Everybody moved quickly and cooperated very nicely. We got some really cool pictures and have included some in the debut. Then we had to be back to the church, Country Club Christian Church, by 3:40 where they were to be married at 4:00. We made it and the ceremony started without a hitch. Following the ceremony guests showered the newly married couple with red rose petals as they exited the church and got onto the bus where it would take them to the reception, The Hampton Inn.

Stephanie and I road on the bus with the wedding party and beat everyone over to the reception where Stacy and TJ did a receiving line as guests entered into the ball room. The ball room looked absolutely gorgeous with white feathers as the center pieces that sat on top of black linens and a strip of silver cloth as an accent. All the chairs had black covers with silver ribbon bows. The wedding cake was white with red roses that lined all the layers with a Crystal vase with Stacy and TJ's engagement photo printed on it and the groom's cake was a KU Football as they love to watch KU play. When it was time for the guests to be in the ball room each bridesmaid and groomsman were then announced describing how either Stacy and/or TJ had met them and what they like to do for fun. Some of the bridesmaids met during college, on the track team and were all best of friends. Some of the groomsmen included Stacy's brother, TJ's older brother, friends from college and an actor from Hollywood who had played in CSI Miami and a few other shows as well. When Stacy and TJ were announced everybody rose to their feet and clapped as they made it to the head table towards the front of the room. Following was the blessing of the food by TJ's step father and then a teddy bear toss for the kids started off the events on the dance floor. This is where Stacy and TJ tossed a stuffed puppy dog by Stacy and a stuffed Shrek by TJ. The kids all loved it. The ones that didn't get the stuffed toys got a bag of goodies to keep them entertained along with being seated at a coloring table with Wedding Coloring books. Then it was time to cut the cake- where they were so so nice to one another. After going back towards the dance floor tear jerker toasts were delivered by the best men and maids of honor. Then they rolled into the father daughter dance and then the mother son dance. Then it was the surprise for guests to watch Stacy and TJ dance their first dance as husband and wife. It started out all nice and sweet then they broke into a choreographed collaborated of dances. This was great and wonderful to watch! The dollar dance followed shortly afterwards. After getting the guests all on the dance floor Ron Ruth announced for the single ladies to come to the dance floor to catch the bouquet. Then following was the garter toss as TJ was a good gentleman till it was off past the knee as he finished it off with his teeth. He threw the garter that was attached to an autographed football. Everyone had a great time and we want to thank you guys for allowing us to be the ones to document your special day. May there be many more and please keep in touch!

To get to know Aspen and Matt a bit better visit Fat Cat Productions website at www.fatcatrocks.blogspot.com. They produced a Love Story for them documenting how they met and proposed-it is pretty cool and highly recommended of any bride to do a Love Story video!

Jeff and I started with Stephanie, of Fat Cat, at the Courtyard Marriot where Aspen and the ladies got ready on the top floor room #527. They had a stylist and make-up artist who traveled in from Liberal.

While we were documenting the ladies getting all dolled up Brett was at The Alley with Barry of Fat Cat, documenting Matt, his groomsmen, Dad and father in law getting into their tuxes before they hopped in the go carts for some racing!

Aspen had gotten all her bridesmaids (5 to be exact) pink bathrobes with their first initial embroidered on it to wear as they got ready. Aspen was wearing a white bathrobe and a white "A" embroidered on hers. The ladies all had a great time. Lunch was catered by Corporate Caterers consisting of sub sandwiches and chips. In between getting hair and make-up done Aspen said it was "Arts and Crafts Time". She had purchased stickers stating "OU" and "KU" on them. These stickers definitely had a meaning as the house of Matt and Aspen's will be House Divided. One side being all decorated in Oklahoma State (Aspen is an Okie) and the other University of Kansas (Matt was born and raised as a KU fan). This bucket was later going to be used at the end of the reception where the sparklers were going to be disposed of.

After most of the ladies were ready they went ahead to the Grand Chapel to finish getting ready by completing last details and putting on their dresses. Aspen's dress was timeless. It was a strapless gown with beaded sweetheart neckline and gathered taffeta skirting. The train was chapel in length and laced up the back. The brides maids wore apple red satin strapless ball gowns with pick-up detailing on the skirt and a black sash at the waist.

The ceremony had a mix of Police Officers and Scottish tradition all mixed into one beautiful ceremony. With Matt being part of the Police Department, the officers acted as ushers. When the wedding began Aspen was escorted by her father to see Matt, and by Scottish tradition a bagpiper preceded her. Some of the family also sported the traditional kilt and Scottish attire. Aspen along with her bridesmaids were barefoot during the ceremony. At the end of the ceremony Aspen was surprised by what Matt had secretly plotted. Just as they were announced as husband and wife, one of Matt's friends on the Police Department ran on stage and promptly handcuffed them together with laughter of the crowd in the background!

After the ceremony we finished up with photos and they were all announced downstairs to their reception by Ron Brown with Another Dimension. After dinner, toasts, and cutting of the cake, the couple had their first dance and the traditional parents dances. When the night came to a close the remaining guests formed a tunnel out of the chapel with sparklers as the couple ran through to a waiting antique black Oldsmobile.

It was a really fun day and it was hard to look back and believe that we actually made it through all 3 weddings in one weekend. They all were different and unique in their own way. That is what makes our job so much fun at each and every wedding that we do. We truly and honestly love what we do and it is priceless when all the brides come down the aisle and see their groom for the first time and tears of happiness stream down their faces. Or it might be a parent or grandmother. And it is all the time and effort that is put into a wedding with all the planning and the behind the scenes. We were very blessed this year to be able to meet and document the most amazing brides.

We want to thank Aspen and Matt for allowing us to document their wedding. Your honeymoon to Jamaica had to be incredible and if you have pictures to share please do! Keep in touch! You guys were awesome!

We started Kim's day after the ladies had breakfast at Panera Bread. Across the street from Panera was Progressions Salon and Day Spa where Kim, 2 bridesmaids, mother and mother-in-law all had their hair done and make-up applied. Following was lunch where Kim and her family gathered at the 'White Rock Cafe' inside of the Hyatt Hotel. Then it was off to The Grand Chapel for the ceremony. I was able to grab some shots downstairs where the reception would later be taking place as I waited for the ladies to arrive. The reception area was well decorated with black linens on all the tables with Hershey kisses and red striped mints scattered around floral arrangements and candles. The colors used throughout the wedding were red, black, silver and some gold. Kim's white dress had cap sleeves lined with lace and beadwork with lots of beadwork around the bodice and some around the sweep train for accents. Kim's shoes were very elegant with a 2 inch heel, open toe, rhinestones that wrapped her ankles and tied at the back of the heel. Kim's bouquet was full with red roses and berries. The two bridesmaids wore red V-neck dresses.

Kim and Doug had decided to see each other before the ceremony. With the ceremony starting at 4:00 we were glad to get some shots of them with it still being light out to capture the warm glow of the sun coming through the stained glass. Doug waited down one of the side aisles for Kim to walk up behind and see him for the first time- looking absolutely stunning. Doug wore a black tux with silver vest and tie with a single red rose as a boutonnière that went well with Kim's bouquet.

The bridesmaids entered the ceremony, Leah and Bailey, followed by two adorable little flower girls. Doug along with his bestman, Dirk, and brother, Kevin, all watched as guests stood when Kim and her father, Michael, escorted her through the sea of people to the front of the chapel. The ceremony was performed by a female judge who kept it short and simple as Doug and Kim exchanged their vows.

After the ceremony we finished up with a few more photos. Before being announced into the reception Doug bustled Kim's dress for her. I have to say that it was the first time we have seen the groom bustle his bride's dress!

The reception was filled with a gathering of friends and family to celebrate Doug and Kim's love for one another. Their cake was 3-tierd with white frosted snowflakes scattered throughout the design of the cake and white rock candy placed around each layer. The groom's cake was a round German chocolate. Following the cake cutting, toasts, and first dances were the bouquet and garter toss.

Jeff and I started our morning meeting up with Courtney at The Eaton Steakhouse in downtown Wichita as close to 20 of Courtney's closest friends and family were there for breakfast to start off Courtney's big day
she had ahead of her. Breakfast was served looked very divine and it was very decorative and colorful. We then went to Studio Amp that was located inside of Sola Salons where Courtney got her hair done. The style was very elegant with it swooping over to the side. Very sophisticated! I then went and dropped Jeff off at Central Christian Church to start documenting the guys as I proceeded to the MAC Counter, inside of Dillard's, where Courtney got her make-up applied. Whenever we go there, which is often, they always do a very nice job and are quick with our brides. They are all very nice and allow us to get the shots we need for our brides.

By being with our brides all day we pick up on conversations from the salon sometimes that are very resourceful in the latter part of the day. One of which was Courtney discussing her gift to Justin. Jeff was able to capture Justin opening a big bag of Justin's favorite type of clothing from Abercrombie & Fitch Co. Also included was a big stuffed moose with red and brown boxers with a pattern of moose on it. Justin loves moose so this was perfect.

I later met up with Barry and Stephanie with Fat Cat Productions at the church. I documented Courtney as she opened a snoopy gift wrapped box of earrings that Courtney was hoping she would get. These earrings went nicely with her gorgeous champagne dress that had cap sleeves covering her shoulders in lace and sequin embellishments and then laced up the back. I must say that one of the eight bridesmaids, Olga, did a record breaker in lacing up the dress in less than 5 minutes! The bridesmaids all wore black, but all different designs to match their personalities. All the flowers were done by Courtney's grandmother, full of deep oranges and reds. Courtney had a unique accent of pheasant feathers.

Courtney and Justin had decided not to see each other before the ceremony. During the photos of Courtney we were in the prayer room taking some shots and Courtney could hear her future husband talking behind a set of doors. Stephanie asked us, as she had seen us do it before with another bride and groom, to place both Courtney and Justin on the opposite sides of the door and hold hands but not peak! Courtney and Justin were up for it and thought it was a great idea. We are glad we did it because they both shed some happy tears that were pure excitement for one another to become husband and wife. They shared a prayer through the door and stroking one another hands before they parted and would officially see each other in a moment of minutes during the ceremony.

The wedding was a candle lit ceremony with Christmas light accents. The bridesmaids all came in ushered by a groomsman and placed themselves scattered up on the stage, all 16 of them to be exact! The sanctuary was full of happy tears for this couple to share in such a beautiful worship of "Come and see what God has done".

Afterwards we finished up pictures with family and the two of them before Jeff and Stephanie jumped on the trolley to head to the reception at The Ville at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Andover. I drove over and beat them there so I could grab some of the details. Barry and I awaited as they all poured out of the trolley and came into their reception as the DJ announced them down the grand staircase. As soon as they all entered they rolled right into the cake cutting, toasts, first dances and then the party! Dinner was a buffet of Courtney's favorite Italian restaurant, Sweet Basil.

Before they left they danced their last dance of the evening with friends circled around them holding hands. As they left for the evening guests were handed jingle bells of silver, gold and red.

We want to give a warm welcome to Courtney and Justin along with both families. You all were a joy to work with and FUN! We hope you had a great time in Times Square for the New Year and on your honeymoon. We thought of you guys as the ball dropped in New York.

Before we mention how Bryna and Mitch's day went we want to share a little history of their relationship. Thanks to the DJ, Ryan Funk, at the reception he gave us the write up of what he read as Bryna and Mitch made their grand entrance to their reception. Often times when two people come together and meet they share a unique story in how they got to the point in life to marry. Bryna and Mitch were no exception to that rule. Bryna and Mitch met in college- Bryna's roommate knew Mitch from High School. After going over there to visit Bryna and Mitch's connection grew stronger. They decided to go on their first official date and with Mitch's concern it may not work out he invited his buddy and girl-friend to come along to keep the mood light and fun. They did hit it off and so they agreed to continue dating. What I thought was funny when Bryna told her parents about Mitch, she said he had lots of children, was covered in tattoos and piercings, and had a mullet! The plain and simple truth was that these two were falling in love with one another.

The proposal was well thought out by Mitch. It was during a K-State spring game. Mitch had a connection with the athletic department and had it worked out to where they would both be on the field together. He had told Bryna that it was a trivia contest, and he had to be down there to answer a few questions. But it wasn't a trivia contest at all. The stadium camera panned down to them and Mitch, in front of 20,000 people, dropped to one knee and asked Byrna to spend the rest of her life with him! Of coruse, she said yes.

Bryna started her day with her mom, two sisters and three bridesmaids getting their hair and make-up done at 7:30 inside of warm Avenue Styles Salon. Shortly after everyone was there it started snowing and blowing. As we were leaving, the snow was starting to stick to the ground. We arrived at Riverside Christian Church to have Bryna finish getting ready and start taking pictures with Mitch. Maggie looked stunning in a Maggie Sottero Midgley one piece, strapless, full A-line gown with corset closure in the back. This draped Capri Taffeta gown featured a ruched bodice with sparking lace embellishments and tiers of pleated organza. It truly looked timeless on Bryna- and Mitch you could tell was very pleased when he saw his bride for the first time. After taking some family shots we asked if they wanted to brave it and go outside. They surprised us with their decision of saying "Yes, lets do it!" By this time the snow had become a white out and it was really hard to see very far at all. We were able to slip outside of the church for some quick shots in the snow. Bryna had chosen red and peach'ish roses for her bouquet that really popped in the fresh white snow. Then we hurried back inside to thaw out. After finishing with family shots it was time to have Bryna and Mitch go hide as guests were starting to arrive around 11:30 for the noon ceremony. About a quarter after noon we got word that the ceremony was delayed because of the snow outside to allow all guests to arrive to the wedding. Some of which, Bryna's grandparents, who lived in Clearwater were afraid they wouldn't be able to make it, but an Uncle went to get them, allowing them to share in Bryna and Mitch's special day. The ceremony started around 1:00. A string quartet played the music which sounded great and gave a nice tone to the sanctuary.

After the ceremony, guests piled out of the church cleaning off their cars of snow and ice. Only a few blocks away the reception was being held, inside the warm ballroom of Botanica. Ryan Funk, the DJ, announced the wedding party along with the bride and groom. They then cut the cake and following was the toasts given by the best man, sisters, and father of the bride. Guests then mingled and congratulated Bryna and Mitch on their marriage along with getting to share in the chocolate fountain, food and whine catered by Truffles.

The food was very good and divine. While guests were eating and after Bryna and Mitch had a chance to eat we went and asked if they wanted to brave the snow again. They were up for it. Bryna grabbed her brown mink shawl that her Great Great Aunt used to own and her grandmother had kept in tact. We found a bright colored umbrella that one of the guests had left by the door that they used as we went out in the shin high snow. Mitch scooped up Bryna and twirled her around and they dipped in the snow. That made for some really killer shots. Thanks guys for being up for whatever and spontaneous. Then we headed inside as we were all covered in snow. The dance was started off as Bryna and Mitch danced their first song together as husband and wife. Then Bryna shared in a dance with her father along with Mitch dancing with his mother. Everybody had a great time! Thank you guys for such a great opportunity to get to know the two of you and document your wedding day. Thank you also to both of the families making us feel comfortable and at ease to be in our element.

Laura and her bridesmaids rode together from Wichita to the church in Newton, Bethel Mennonite Church on Bethel University Campus. The limestone church looked very festive with a blanket of fresh white snow over it and green wreaths with red bows on the front doors. Laura and the ladies headed up the stairs where they had the whole top floor to themselves to get ready. The ladies all got their hair and make-up done and had a mixture of music playing in the background to set the mood (Lots of Moulin Rouge!). Laura's dress was a beautiful two piece that was strapless and laced up the back. The bottom skirting was gathered taffeta. Laura slipped into her dress with her bridesmaids help and mom's help as well. After grabbing a few shots of the ladies downstairs in the sanctuary, Jeff and I were able to get some fun shots of Laura sitting on a retro couch located in front of a window.

Jeff was able to get the groom, Josh, and his groomsmen outside for some fun pics out in the snow. Of course not getting too dirty - but they still had fun and it made for some great shots.

A few minutes before the ceremony Laura and her immediate family gathered together with the pastor and had a prayer. Josh and the guys did the same thing downstairs still hidden away for Laura not to see him until she came down the aisle with her dad. Josh was grinning from ear to ear when he saw his stunning bride. The ceremony was very cool talking about how to work at your marriage and that investing into your marriage is important. Matt, Andrew, David and Justin sang a hymn together nicely harmonizing while Laura and Josh lit their unity candle. Laura and Josh also sang a song to God together as a prayer to Him. Following the ceremony Laura slipped on a white jacket that went well with her dress.

They carried a red umbrella that shaded them as guests showered them with red rose petals while they walked through the sea of people to a red antique car. After Laura and Josh drove around the block, they came back for the groups photos. Then we walked over to the hall across campus to the reception. The hall was very nicely decorated with a very tall live Christmas Tree in the corner where the guests put the gifts for Laura and Josh. The cake was very gorgeous which was made by Sylvia Campbell, Laura's mother. After what Don Campbell, Laura's dad, said Laura had a vision and ran with it to make the hall look how she envisioned. The DJ was a cousin to Laura, Ben Wheeler.

Chocolate Cascades was there with their chocolate fountain providing all kinds of goodies to dip into the chocolate. Laura and Josh had a great time feeding each other the chocolate. Laura put on an apron that said "Bride" to prevent any dripping onto her dress. I did find it very unique that they had every kind of popcorn that you could think of for guests to munch on. Along with that they had chips and dip as well. Laura and Josh got a chance to spend time with close family and friends. Josh and Laura- We want to thank you for allowing us to be a part of your special day and document such cherished memories. Have fun in Florida on your honeymoon and we hope you get a chance to sit back and relax on the beach.

When we take our engagement pictures we like to have fun and make each session unique for our couples. Some couples like fun with a more traditional feel, while some like a more contemporary documentary style. No matter which style our couples like our goal is to capture you being you. It's funny to think ahead some times. Like about when we have kids and how I hope that threw the pictures of Tyff and I they'll see the connection and love we share. Often times we think, Our parents where never like that, or that they never went on dates. The funny thing is everything seems to comes full circle at some point in our lives.

Blog gets a face lift...

Yep the blog got a face lift over the weekend. I know we have been swamped more than normal with the move, but we are starting to gain ground on getting caught back up. Thanks to everyone who reads this crazy blog to see what we've been up to. The new look will be accompanied by a new website first of next year I think. Since I (Jeff) do all of the design for our website it might be a while as I'm working to find ways to get more than 24hour out of day...

As I said things are finally starting to come together and Tyff and I are slowly getting use to having our own office space. After working in the same room for so long it feels a bit empty not having her in the same room. However as any married couple knows there are days that it is nice to have your own space. ha ha Tyff... love ya.

I've posted a few pics of our most recent senior sessions we've been doing lately. In addition to these pics we are hoping to post more debuts yet this week.

Tyff and I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving weekend and were able to spend time with friends and family.

Jeff and I started at Progressions Salon and Day Spa documenting Christina and her 6 bridesmaids and flower girl as all the ladies got classic hair up do's. Christina chose a hair style that she saw on a bride in our blog from a previous wedding this year, Carolyn Ritchie. After her hair was done she got her make-up done and then she was off to go to the church, St. Francis of Assisi.

The guys wore black tuxes from the Tux Shop, and as most already know, they went out of business. Well, as they were picking up the tuxes they were told that they could just keep the Tuxes! The vests and ties were red to match the ladies dresses. The ladies all wore the same color red to match the groomsmen, however, they all had a different style of dress. The flowers were from the Flower Market. The bouquets were deep red and burnt orange roses. The accesories that Christina wore were very special to her. First, three garters. One was her grandmother's, the second was her mother's and the third was the one that she tossed later at the reception. Her earrings were pearls handed down in the family which matched nicely with a string of pearls that her grandfather had given her grandmother as a birthday present years ago. The bridesmaids also all wore earrings and necklaces that Christina hand-made for everyone.

"The wedding dress" story that Christina shared with me teared me up as it was very special. Being a girl and the way she is, she started looking for wedding dresses a year and a half ago prior to her engagement and found a dress that she fell in love with. Once engaged, she, her mom and sisters went looking for wedding dresses again and she wanted to try to find the one that she had found years ago. They went to David's Bridal and when they described it to them, the assistant said that they thought the dress was discontinued and it was no longer made in the style she was looking for. But the assistant disappeared and soon came back with a dress that she said she had no idea of where it came from - and that it was on clearance! It was 'THE DRESS'!!!! Christina knew it was a God-send and that it was truly meant to be and that was the dress she chose.

Christina and Jes had chose not to see each other before the ceremony so we did what pictures we could before hand. When the ceremony started the groomsmen escorted the bridesmaids down the aisle with Macie and Chase, Jes's children, following and then Christina and her father. Jes did all he could do to keep the tears from streaming down in joy. The ceremony was absolutely beautiful. Afterwards the guests gathered in the lobby with streamer poppers to set off when Christina and Jes came in to do their fake leave. They then drove around the block and came back for some more pictures of the two of them together as a married couple.

Then it was time to go to the reception. John and Dave with Totally Legal Sound and Lighting announced the wedding party along witih Christina and Jes as they entered their reception. They went over to the cake and cut it then did their toasts together. Afterwards dinner was served by Syl's Restaurant and Catering out of Colwich, KS. Following was a few songs sang by Christina and some of her colleagues from Benedictine College choir. Then many toasts were performed letting everybody know how thankful that they were that Jes and Christina chose each other to be with the rest of their lives. They all mentioned how it was God who brought them together and it had really grown their faith in Jesus Christ.

The garter and bouquet toss was soon to follow. The first dance song was a surprise to Jes as Christina sang and recorded it for him. The father/daughter and mother/son dances followed and then the dance floor was officially opened up for guests to have a good time. And that is exactly what they did.

We want to thank both families for allowing us to feel welcome. Christina and Jes you guys are a great couple and you have a wonderful foundation of God in your lives that is very evident and it is beautiful.

Name Contest!

As many of you know, we've moved into our new studio, space that we are sharing with our friends at Fat Cat Productions. After working late one night the four of us sat around trying to think of a name for the new building. So another idea came to the table via Tyffany and Barry- let's ask our clients and blog readers for suggestions and hold a sort of a contest to name the new building! It will still be lots of fun to see all the submissions!

Submissions can be sent to us by clicking the about link to contact us. Friends and family are welcome to join in the fun! Everyone of all ages can submit ideas. Please title your email "Name Contest", submit your idea, as well as your name and age (prize will be age-driven). And so you have an idea what we are after, keep the following items in mind:

The type of building it is. (a quonset)
The interior. (warm colors but clean, neat and modern)
The type of businesses. (photo, video, art forms, creativity, etc. we aren't strictly weddings, we also do corporate work and other projects)
Short and easy to remember name.
Preferably fun and easy to spell :)

We will compile all the names and review them seeing if anything strikes our fancy within the next few weeks and hopefully post a winner in a future blog entry. Here are some pictures to give you some ideas- HAVE FUN!

Greetings, I know we've been bad bloggers lately but with good reason. As you know from our last blog post, we are in process of moving our studio.

We are currently working hard on getting the new studio remodeling finished up at night after we edit during the day, along with any shoots we have booked. There are a number of debuts and edits we are working to get caught back up on and want to thank everyone for their patience with us as we work on finishing up our move. October has been a crazy month as a studio with:

18 - engagement sessions
11 - weddings
6 - corporate shoots
5 - kids sessions
3 - senior sessions
1 - pre-school shoot
1 - school shoot
1 - moving studio :)

We are so humbled by our friends and past couples who have stopped in to say hi and have offered to help with the move. We honestly feel we have the best customers anyone could ask for. Here are a few pics that Steph and Barry have taken so far.

Erica started her special day at Sami Halaesh Salon with her bridesmaids, friends and family to get their hair done. Make-up was done at the church which was the beautiful St. George Orthodox Christian Cathedral. Erica's bridesmaids wore black strapless dresses with a champagne sash that went around the girl's waist and down to the floor in the back. Erica's dress was a champagne color as well that had a really long train. As I was following and documenting the ladies Jeff was spending time with the guys documenting them as they shot clay pigeons in Goddard. Jeff even was able to not only shoot with the camera but join in the manly fun of shooting a gun as well. He enjoyed that Dave, so, thank you for allowing him to be part of the fun. Jeff also had some time to take some pictures of Dave and his groomsmen in Old Town. As he was documenting the guys having a good time he saw a man driving an old 1929 truck and flagged him down to get some shots of the guys hanging out by the truck. Then it was time for the guys and Jeff to head to the church to start with Dave and his family pictures.

The ceremony was absolutely beautiful as their was the Right Reverend Bishop Basil, Very Reverend Paul O-Callaghan and Reverend James Shadid who performed the holy matrimony ceremony. The Orthodox has a lot of history to it and with the detailed ceiling paintings and the pillars that ran up both sides of the long aisle made for great photos. Afterwards we did family photos together with both Erica and Dave. I bee lined over to the reception which was held at the Olive Tree and documented the details and guests visiting as Jeff rode on the trolley with the wedding party to Bradley Fair to grab a few more candid shots.

As guests waited for Dave and Erica to arrive they were served orderves as they mingled and socialized. Once Erica and Dave were announced into their reception the buffet lines were opened for guests to enjoy. After dinner Erica and Dave had their first dance as husband and wife to "At Last". Then Erica and Gary, father of the bride, danced to "What a Wonderful World". Dave and Milna, mother of the groom, danced to "One Sweet World". The dance floor was officially open for the guests to take part in having fun. The evening was very elegant and a chance for Erica and Dave to thank all their guests for coming.

We want to thank Erica and Dave along with both families for allowing us to be able to document their special day.

KSN Threw a Wedding

On October 26 was a big day for Maggie and CJ, winners of the KSN Throws a Wedding Contest! What a whirlwind day! We started out at Platinum Salon and Spa with Stephanie of Fat Cat Productions. Maggie and all her bridesmaids had their hair styled and make up applied by the very talented stylists. Maggie's hair looked great with the winning style and she kept mentioning how no one from work would recognize her! Afterwards, Maggie ran to get lunch and take a break until the afternoon when we all met back up at the Patroleum Club to prepare for the actual ceremony.

When Maggie arrived, she went to check out all the floral arrangements provided by Susan's Flowers and the cake donated by Artistic Cakes. When the dresses arrived, Maggie wasted no time and got ready with the help of her bridesmaids. The winning dress looked great on her and quite unique. It was an Alfred Angelo white gown but with a splash of color around the waist and a split up the back opening to a swatch of color around the waist and a split up the back opening to a swatch of color that matched the light blue bridesmaids dresses. A semi-cathedral length gown flowed behind her. The flower girl's dress was also a winning choice by KSN viewers, white toule with matching blue flowers around the waist and a bow in the back.

Once the girls were ready, Maggie went to meet her groom for the first time prior to the wedding so they could get many photos out of the way before guests arrived. CJ was poised at the front of the room with his back to the bride as she walked down the aisle and tapped him on the shoulder. He had the biggest smile on his face when he turned around! After the photos Maggie retreated to the dressing room while guests started arriving and CJ greeted and thanked them for coming.

Once the music started for the ceremony, the room came to a hush, the bridesmaids all marched in and the crowd stood for the bride as she entered through the french doors. Her father escorted her and gave her away. A judge, the couple knew from their Law Enforcement careers, performed the ceremony and in record time! They were husband and wife before they knew it and off to the awaiting limo from A-List Limousine for a few more pictures off site.

With the sun dipping down below the horizon so quickly, we headed to the Keeper of the Plains for photos for some extra lighting. We were able to get some killer shots of the wedding party and the newlyweds.

Then it was time to get the wedding party, Maggie and CJ back their reception. They were announced by DJ Mark Mazur and promptly cut the cake and were toasted by the Best Man and Maid of Honor before they had a chance to sit down and have a bite to eat themselves. Soon after Maggie threw her bouquet, CJ removed her garter (like a gentleman!) and they danced their first song together as husband and wife. The parents dances followed and then the dance "snowballed" into a very nice party for them. They spent the entire night dancing, visiting with friends and family and just enjoying each other.

It was really a fun day to be a part of. Thanks to KSN for allowing us to be a part of the contest and Lacey for all the guidance along the way. Thanks mostly to CJ and Maggie for being so open and willing to allow their day to basically be planned by the public! You were great to work with and get to know, please stay in touch!

Moving Our Studio

It's now time we get to officially announce we are getting a new studio and will be relocating very soon. Seems like everywhere we go we get asked, "When are you moving?" It is humbling when we don't always know the person that asks. We love our current location, however, the way we are growing we will need more space. We hope to be up and running in our new space by November 4th. There is a bit of remodeling we will be doing at the nehttp://www.blogger.com/img/gl.link.gifw place and are excited about. One of our grooms this year owns Texturite and will be refinishing the cinder block walls that are inside to give a nice textured look. We are proud to say that we will be sharing the 6,000 sq. ft. with Fat Cat Productions. Barry and Stephanie from FCP are in charge of remodeling one of the rooms to be a movie theatre. So we are really excited about that! Even though FCP is moving up with us, we will be still be separate companies and will simply be sharing space.

Now you might be asking yourself where? Well, we aren't moving far. We still will be in Valley Center and actually just around the corner - next to Sonic! Our New studio address will be 142 S. Meridain in Valley Center. We will be having a Grand Opening/Open House sometime after the first of the year. We would like to invite all our previous brides, future brides, vendors, family and friends. Stay tuned for pictures of the building before, during and after the remodeling.

We also want to thank those of you who booked your Christmas session early this year. We are all full and will no longer take appointments for the Christmas Season.

We have even more "news" to share at a later date not pertaining to the building, but want to keep it a secret till it is ready to announce when the time is good, perfect and ready. Stay tuned!

We started by arriving at the Airport Hilton where Julie, her bridesmaids and little angels got their hair done. Julie and Nate had a parade of angels that were in the wedding instead of the traditional ringbearer and flowergirl. The parade of angels consisted of Savannah, Destry, Olivia, Madelyn, Jackson and Peter.

They had a total of seven attendants on each side including a junior bridesmaid and junior groomsman. The ladies wore black floor length dresses and carried yellow lilies and roses designed by Moore Flowers. The men wore black pinstripe tuxes with yellow vests to go with the Wichita Shocker colors black and gold.

The ceremony was performed by Father Jim Billinger at St. Elizatheth Ann Seton Catholic Church. Julie looked stunning as her father escorted her down the aisle to Nate for the first time. After the ceremony we finished up with pictures The wedding party along with friends hopped on the Green Unified Party Bus to transport over to the reception which was held at The Airport Hilton. After arriving Julie and Nate wanted to take a peak at the room as it was all nicely decorated while their guests were in another area for cocktail hour. The groom's cake was decorated all in WSU decor including 2 rowing boats and ors that were exactly what they used to row with when they were on the rowing team but in a smaller scale of course. On the back was a green shamrock with ILU on the back. The wedding cake was very tall with many layers of different kinds of cake.

There was chocolate, lemon, confetti and strawberry to satisfy any taste bud. In one of the corners of the room they made sure they had something to keep the kids busy. They had miniature pumpkins and foam stickers to attach to the pumpkins. This made for a wonderful idea and kept the kids busy for awhile. Before the guests entered the room Julie and Nate went out in the area to visit and socialize for a bit and take part in the cheese fountain with warm pretzels and chips. Then it was time for Scott with AMM to announce the entire wedding party into the ball room. They all were announced into the room by their height and name in the mimic to an announcer at a basketball game announcing players to the floor towards the beginning of a game. To start the evening Julie and Nate went over to the cake and cut into it as newly weds. Lets just say it got messy and up someone's nose. "Way to go Julie!" After Julie did some clean up on aisle Hampel they did their toast and followed was a slideshow and dinner. Following dinner was the toast by the best man and maid of honor. Many tears of happiness and laughter were shed reminiscing child hood on both behalf's. Followed were the formal dances and lots of fun hanging out with friends and family.

We want to thank both families for having us there to document Julie and Nate's special day. Also we want to thank Tinley with Jubilations for the day going so smoothly and all her hours of planning. We also had a blast with the crazy crew over at FAT CAT Productions. Every wedding is unique in its own way and this one had many little things that made it special to them as a couple: The parade of angels, WSU theme, The entrance to the ballroom, pumpkins for the kids, quotes from movies that Julie and Nate have seen placed randomly around the reception location, cheese fountain and many more.

We took many pictures so everyone that is reading and are anxious to see pictures from the wedding please be patient with us as we are in the process of moving our studio and we do open up every photo to edit and so please make sure you register and you will get an e-mail to see the rest of the pictures when they are available. I will be working on the debut slideshow this week to post to help relive the day and be a teaser before all the other photos are posted.

Jeff and I met Missy at Edgez Salon on the East side of Wichita as she, her bridesmaids and flower girl got their hair done. One of the bridesmaids provided Panera Bread bagels for breakfast. We then headed to the church where the ladies finished getting ready and into their dresses. Missy's dress was a strapless A-line gown with pleated band at waist and apron back with a red edge and chapel train. The main color of the wedding was red.

The bridesmaids wore strapless all red fitted dresses with a train. The guys wore black tuxes, red vests and red ties. Missy's dad escorted her down the aisle for the ceremony to Robbie. This was the first time he saw her. Following the ceremony we finished up with pictures of the families and the newlyweds together. The way they had planned out their day they had allowed plenty of time between the ceremony and the time they wanted to be announced into their reception. The extra time allowed for pictures of both families, 45 minute ride in the limo and additional 20-30 minutes time to take more pictures in the Old Town area of Wichita. It went very smoothly and was very relaxed. After being announced by the DJ they went around to their guests thanking them for coming and saying a quick hello. Then they were seated for dinner, which was served to them. The wedding cake was white with words that were special to Missy and Robbie like the words Just Married, Love Together, She's His Always, Two Hearts etc...

The groom's cake was a Cub's uniform shirt, with Robbie being a HUGE Cub's fan was very fitting. Then they had their toasts and the wedding march. The wedding march started inside then went outside and came back inside to finish and then start their first dance. They did have an unique way to starting off the money dance. Robbie took off his tux shoes and gave one to the best man and the other to the maid of honor and the shoes were what the money was collected in. The best man and one of the ushers had a good time yelling "NEXT!" when it was the next person's turn to dance with Robbie. The maid of honor had a blast making sure that everybody either donated money and/or danced with Missy. It will always be a running battle who one but it is probably a guarantee the ladies won! Everybody had a great time on the dance floor and seemed to have a blast!

We want to thank you for coming to us Missy when you got engaged. It was special to us to do your wedding photography after doing your senior pictures a few years back. You are a super sweet couple and were such a joy to work with. Please keep in touch.

Friday afternoon I met Megan at Al A Spa on Douglas and documented as she got her hair done by a friend from college. Then I followed her to John's sister's house as she met up with her ladies. Not more than 2 minutes after showing up at the house Katie, one of her bridesmaids, mentioned that it looked like it was going to rain, but not to worry because she had heard it was good luck if it rained on your wedding day. Well, it rain for a bit but cleared off beautifully and a little rain didn't dampen Megan's spirit. After getting a bite to eat of sandwiches provided by Corporate Caters, Artistic Limousine came and picked all the ladies up and took them to Magdalen Church. Shortly after Megan arrived at the church, John got his boutonniere on and headed to the front of the sanctuary to get prepared for his beautiful bride to come and see him for the first time. The plan was to get all the pictures done before hand. After spending about a half hour getting lots of photos of John and Megan by themselves we were told that Friday night mass was going to start and we had to leave the sanctuary. With the weather clearing off we took the wedding party outside and were able to get lots of fun pictures. We all carpooled across the street from the church where there was a bridge and a stream for a nice backdrop.

Then it was me to get back to the church and prepare for the ceremony. Afterwards, family met us back in the sanctuary to wrap up the rest of the pictures. The reception was also held at Magdalen. John's family has a unique tradition for couples entering into the reception location. He wheeled Megan in on a wheelbarrow! The wheelbarrow was passed down through generations. Corporate Caterers provided food, "The Source" band provided excellent music all night.

Megan and John started their party by visiting with all their guests first, then they cut their cake and had their first dance. Following was the garter and bouquet toss. Before the night ended John took the microphone and asked Megan to come forward. He sang to her a song that they heard a lot while on a trip to Texas.

We really enjoyed documenting your wedding day and we hope you were able to get away on your honeymoon and relax.

We started our day Sunday morning at Planet Hair as Chelsea and her four bridesmaids got their hair done. Chelsea's hair looked very nice as it was half up and half down with curls. Before leaving she had her make-up done. Then it was time to head to the church where lunch was catered by Jimmy John's providing roast beef, turkey and ham sandwiches with chips as the side.

The colors they chose were fall colors containing cinnamon, oranges and greens. The bridesmaids dresses were floor length strapless with a broach that swooped the dress to the side and cinnamon in color. Chelsea's dress was very special as it was given to her by her aunt and altered by Jonathan's aunt. It was a Maggie Soterro that was sleeveless with intricate embroidery that lined the bodice and laced up the back. Chelsea also carried a six pence in her shoe for good luck, wedding rings from both her and Jonathan's grandparents as well as borrowed pearl bracelet.

Jeff started the formal pictures with Jonathan while I was downstairs documenting the ladies getting ready. Once it was time for Chelsea to come upstairs and do her formal pictures she told me she really wanted to see Jonathan but still wanted to wait till the ceremony but could she do a picture where they were both holding hands but standing on opposite sides of a door? "Of course!", I said. This made for some really cool pics and it will be a great memory for the two of them in years to come.

As guests started to arrive, the guest book was a unique experience with a Polaroid picture of each and every guest attending and then signing underneath their picture. This was really unique and fun. During the ceremony Chelsea's brother escorted her down the aisle to Jonathan. Jonathan was all smiles when he saw his bride and how beautiful she looked. Instead of a unity candle they shared in pouring of sand together into a vase. After the ceremony, guests were ushered out by the pastors and they lined up outside with bubbles. When everyone came outside lots of hoops and hollers were yelled along with being showered with bubbles as they made their way to the River City Trolley. Jeff hopped on with them as they went around the block and came back for more pictures at the church.

After finishing all the pictures we followed the trolley over to East High School where Chelsea and Jonathan first met. They started dating eight years ago. We got some pictures in front of the sign of the school and on the front lawn in front of the tower. Then it was time to go to the reception which was held at the Petroleum Club on the top floor of The Bank of America building. After being announced into their party Chelsea and Jonathan cut their cake and received toasts from the maid of honor and the best man (Jonathan's brother) and then Jonathan's dad. They both shared happy tears as they gave their speech leaving not a dry eye in house. As some background music played we captured memories as Jonathan and Chelsea went to each table greeting their guests and thanking them for coming. The first dance as husband and wife was Jack Johnson's "Better Together". Then on to the mother/son dance and the step-dad/daughter dance, which was a song that Brian had written and sang. The reception was a special occasion for the newlyweds as they caught up with friends and family.

Last weekend we traveled to Lincolnville, KS to document Sara and Randy's wedding day. We started at Sara's parents country home. The house was an older farmstead that had been in Sara's family since it was built over 100 years ago. The beautiful two story had the tall skinny windows and doorways which made for really pretty backdrop as Sara got ready. She started with her hair and her bridesmaids hanging out and also getting their hair done in the dining area. Sara found her dress at David's Bridal. She said that it was her 3rd one she tried on and knew it was the one for her. It was an ivory taffeta A-line with beaded shirred bodice with a chapel length train. It looked absolutely stunning on Sara and it fit her like a glove. Before the ceremony began we were able to grab some photos of Sara out and around the farm house by some of the out buildings and by her dad's antique 1946 restored blue Chevrolet pickup. The ceremony began without a hitch despite the wind. The ceremony location that Sara and Randy chose was out of most of the wind because of trees that surrounded it. The ceremony was very peaceful with a stream that ran behind the tree bark arbor. The guests were seated on boards that laid across straw hay bales. At the end of each row Sara's dad had welded together a metal rod to rail road spikes to hang a ball of maroon flowers from.

The bridesmaids all wore chocolate brown dresses that were different styles. The flowers were all fall-like colors using the dark reds and creams. Randy couldn't help but cry with happy tears as he saw his beautiful bride walking down the path with her dad to give her away to her groom. As the ceremony ended and Randy and Sara walked back down the path, the DJ played the theme song to "Batman", fitting with their new last name! Then guests lined up to greet Sara, Randy, wedding party and the families as they walked to their cars to head to the reception. Afterwards we took family and wedding party pictures, as well as jsut Sara and Randy. Then it was time to go to the reception. Sara's dad drove them as they sat in the back of the '46 Chevrolet truck, peaking out to 45 mph, through Lincolnville to the Community building.

The reception was decorated with wheat that Sara and her mom had picked for the center pieces and candles which made for an illuminating atmosphere. The wedding cake was in the shape of a stump of a tree with a heart and their names carved in the frosting! The groom's cake? Yep- you guessed it- white cake with the Batman symbol on it. The reception was started with a photo montage of Sara and Randy growing up. Then the party rolled on into dinner, cake cutting, toasts, and the formal dances. Sara and Randy danced to "Lost in This Moment" by Big and Rich. It was a miracle that Jeff was able help out the DJ by playing the song from his IPhone with the DJ's microphone held up to it. The rest of the evening was filled with people gathering and having a good time.

Sara and Randy, thank you for allowing us to be part of your special day. I, Tyff, felt in my element being on a farm! Reminded me of my growing up years living in the country in a 100+ year old house and then doing what I love, taking pictures, it was GREAT!!! You guys are such a sweet couple and we wish you many years of laughter and happiness. When you come to Valley Center to visit family please stop by and visit us, too.

This last weekend we had the privilege to document Sheena and Jonathan's wedding at the "Cathedral of the Plains", St. Fidelis in Victoria, KS just East of Hays, KS. The cathedral started construction November 1908 and ended in August of 1911. This massive Romanesque structure stands in the form of a cross and faces west with its 141 feet high majestic towers dominating the prairie landscape.

At 8:00 a.m. Sheena, her mother, mother-in-law and bridesmaids met at Impressions to have their hair done. While socializing they shared in some Mimosas and donuts that were provided by Sheena's aunt. Afterwards the ladies met at Sheena's parents to get dressed and put on make-up. The bridesmaid's dresses were black strapless with a lilac sash that wrapped around the waist and looped in the back. Sheena's dress was a satin cuffed bodice and full tulle skirt with embellished sparkling beads. She wore a long train veil with a beautiful tierra, matching necklace and a bracelet that matched her ring which she wore on her left wrist.

With the guidelines of the church it left them no choice but to see each other before the ceremony and to get all the pictures done before-hand. I believe they both were glad they did because it really relieved the stress and nervousness they both had. Sheena looked stunning as she walked up behind her groom, standing by one of the marble pillars to the side aisle. We spent about 30-45 minutes with just the two of them then rolled into family and wedding party photos.

The ceremony was absolutely gorgeous with all the architecture and atmosphere the cathedral put off. Even though there was no air-conditioning the ceremony still was very meaningful for Sheena, Jonathan, family and friends.

Following the ceremony, guests were handed bubbles as they lined up outside the front of the church to shower Sheena and Jonathan as they made their way to the limo. On the way to the reception we did grab a few shots on a near by bridge that was located on Fort Hays Campus.

The reception was held at the Fox Pavillion in Hays, KS. Originally opened in 1950, as the Fox Theater, and now is a premier entertainment destination in Western Kansas. The original 50's style theater ambiance remains, and creates a fun atmosphere for the full food and bar services, outdoor patio, dance floor, and cigar lounge. Sheena and Jonathan were announced by C&C Energy DJ as they made it front and center stage to the head table. The theatre seats of course have all been taken out and replaced with tables and chairs. The chairs were all covered in black satin with a lilac sash around them and elegantly decorated with black napkins rolled up and stood straight up with candles as the center pieces. All the guests had a little black box with a ribbon around it with chocolates inside for a treat to enjoy during the evening. After dinner Sheena and Jonathan cut their cake, had toasts, their first dance, father/daughter and mother/son dances. Many other dances followed like the chicken dance, hokey pokey, cotton-eyed Joe and many more. The evening was filled with fun and a chance for Sheena and Jonathan to visit with their guests. They had a great time!

Thanks again to Sheena, Jonathan, your parents, siblings and friends for being so wonderful to work with. Thank you for a sandwich to get me by till dinner and for dinner as well. We look forward to seeing you all again in June as we document Shawn and Lindsay Billinger/Bengston wedding. You guys were all great and we had a great time sharing your
day with you.

Janelle started her day getting her hair and make-up done at Asbury Methodist Church. Janelle's mom made sure she would be set for the day by packing a lunch and also providing her Ritz crackers and Janelle's favorite snack- Fudge Rounds. The ladies also played a round of 'Apples to Apples', a card game. Janelle's flowers were white daisies with yellow centers. The daisy theme was carried throughout the day on the front of the guest book, pen to sign the guest book, in buckets that were draped on the pews and small bouquets the bridesmaids carried down the aisle. The ladies wore white strapless tops with yellow skirts with a dainty yellow ribbon that tied along the waist. Janelle looked stunning in a dress she found at David's Bridal. It was white, satin A-line with removable cap sleeves, chiffon split front and metalic embroidery with a chapel length train.

Janelle chose to see Josh for the first time before the ceremony and they had time for a private moment together. Before the ceremony, the guests were seated while a Trivia slide show filled with multiple choice and True/False questions about Janelle and Josh played on big screens. This made it very personable and fun. Opening the ceremony was a slideshow by Fat Cat Productions in memory of Janelle's grandfather and Josh's mother. The ceremony was very beautiful and Janelle and Josh left down the aisle dancing to "This will be an everlasting love". The receptin was held at the Indian Center and the newleyweds wanted to snag a few shots by the Keeper of the Plains on the suspension bridge. Then the entire wedding party was announced by the DJ, Absolute Sound, again with personal trivia about each attendant as they arrived.

Dinner was catered by Old Chicago and consisted of pizza rolls, calzones, chicken tenders, salad and fruit. The wedding cake was all chocolate with chocolate frosting. The thin mints were also a big hit and lined a nearby platter in a layered circle. The groom's cake was consised of all Josh's favorite sports teams he likes to watch. The party started with the Janelle and Josh's first dance as well as the father/daughter dance and Josh dancing with his grandmother. Everybody danced and had a crazy time. And that is no joke they all knew how to party!

We want to thank Janelle and Josh along with everyone for making us feel welcome. You two are a great couple and we wish you many happy times and memories!

Jeff and I started the day at Salon Uruku as Hilary and all the ladies including the mothers and grandmothers got their hair done. They all wore matching black tank tops that said their name and how they were related to Hilary on the back of each. Of course Hilary had embroidered "Hilary - The Bride" on her back of her tank top. As Hilary arrived she had yellow roses that awaited her that Scott, her very soon husband-to-be, had sent to the salon as a surprise. Hilary provided everyone with lunch from Panera. After Hilary got her hair and make-up done we lined all the ladies up to get a shot of all the embroidered tank tops that the grandmother had made.

Then it was time to head to Botanica where the ceremony was to be held. The ladies all slipped into their dresses. The four bridesmaids wore black v-necked dresses that were tea-length. Hilary's dress was very simple and elegant, mermaid fitted with a small train and a long veil. Before Hilary saw Scott for the first time, she wanted to get pictures with the ladies around the Botanical Gardens.

Shortly after 4:00 p.m. Scott got into his tux and stood in front of the Fountains. Hilary came up behind him for their private moment to see each other for the first time. We documented as smiles were exchanged with one another.

After all the group shots were taken with family and the wedding party (which included Hilary and Scott's Whippet dog Satual), we also were able to get pictures of Scott and Hilary around a forest green 1959 Triumph convertible with tan interior that Scott and his dad help refurbish. Of course before we were finished we grabbed a timeless shot with Scott, his dad and grandfather by the car as well.

After a humid day the weather was cooling off and all the guests sat in the shade under the tree in the meadow of Botanica waiting for the wedding. Bottles of water were passed out to all the guests when they arrived to be seated. The ceremony was a beautiful sunset wedding and couldn't have had been better lighting. Hilary had her mother escort her down the white runner aisle and she handed Hilary off to her new groom Scott.

After Doctors Hilary and Scott were pronounced husband and wife the reception took place on the Terrace outside with white Christmas lights lining the bushes and illuminated the trees. A live band played they had found from Oklahoma. After cutting the cake and their first dance, the party was officially started!

Hilary and Scott we want to thank you both, along with both families, for allowing us to be a part of such a special day. We want to also thank Tinley and her crew from Jubilations making it all run as smoothly as it did and for their hard work in the help of planning Hilary and Scott's Daty. The day couldn't have been more beautiful also since earlier the forecast had rain.

Thank you guys and we hope you had a blast in St. Lucia.

After leaving around 9:30 p.m. from Jamie and Jaye's reception, we were on the road again to our next wedding located in Sabetha, KS the very next day. A trip that was suppose to be an hour and half turned out to be 3 hours because we got a little lost through Kansas City's construction and detours! Then on the map it showed that the hotel in Sabetha was right on the highway. We drove past Sabetha and ended in Nebraska. This is when we decided we had gone too far and turned around! We found it on the old highway that used to run through the town. After downloading the memory cards, charging up batteries, making back up DVD's of the previous days images and formatting the cards again, it was time for some shut eye for a bit then up again. We started at 11 a.m. over at Julie Strader's, Danielle's mothers house as the ladies got their hair done.

With Danielle being a graphic designer she had done a really nice job with the design of the wedding. From the invitations, to the programs, to the colors that she chose, were absolutely beautiful and well thought out. The six bridesmaids wore dark purple iridescent V-neck tea-length dresses. The six groomsmen wore brown tuxes with tasteful chartreuse green tuxes and ties. The six ushers also wore brown tuxes but had purple vests and ties that matched the bridesmaids dresses. The 3 flower girls and ring bearer looked adorable all dressed up as well. After Danielle got dressed she was really excited to see her groom, Brad. He expressed the same! We took pictures and documented their private moment seeing each other for the first time.

The ceremony started at 4:00 p.m. at Northridge Church. It was a candlelit ceremony and low light making for a really romantic atmosphere for them to say their vows to one another. Following the ceremony Brad and Danielle, along with both sets of parents lined up for the receiving line. Guests gathered outside to wait for Brad and Danielle to leave in a borrowed black cherry 1966 Chevrolet. They drove around the block and came back to the church to grab some more pictures outside of the church.

Then it was time to head to Bern, KS to the Bern Community Center where the reception was held. They had a candy bar for the kids consisting of carmel corn, peppermints and more goodies for them to snack on. Each dish had a customized sign that was placed in front of the candies. As guests walked in they also could leave a note to Danielle and Brad and hang it on a tree. The center pieces to the tables had flowers in vases that were filled with limes. Hanging from the ceiling were illuminated blue balls.

Danielle and Brad danced to "Lost in This Moment" by Big and Rich. Following was the father/daughter and mother/son dances along with the garter and bouquet toss.

We want to thank both of you for allowing us be a part of your beautiful wedding day. Every detail was really thought out well and Custom-designed, so perfect down to the littlest details. We hope you have a blast in Colorado and get some time to relax.

When Jamie and Jaye found us through the magazine ad that was in KC Weddings, Jamie looked us up and they drove down to meet with us. After coming all the way to meet with us and booking they then turned around and drove back because Jaye was playing in a basketball game later that day in KC. So we have known them for quite some time now, including shooting their engagement session.

This last Friday we drove up early to Kansas City, Missouri for the rehearsal. The wedding took place on Saturday, September 1. We started the day at the President Hilton's Hotel located in downtown Kansas City early about 9 a.m. Jamie along with her 5 bridesmaids, mother and 2 flower-girls all got their hair done on the sixth floor. After grabbing a few shots of the ladies hanging out and the Bride's dress, Jeff and I needed to leave so we could meet the ladies over at the Mario Tricoci Salon and Day Spa in Leawood, KS where they had their make-up applied. As we walked off the elevator in the lobby of the hotel we saw a parade in the street for the Irish Fest that was going on throughout the city - and the only exit to the parking garage where our car was located was blocked by the parade! After begging a police officer, we were able to stop the parade long enough to head to our next location! Jamie and the ladies had to meet their limo driver on foot about 5 blocks away from the hotel. Needless to say it will be a funny memory now and it didn't interfere with Jamie's time schedule. They still arrived at the salon on time and things went just as scheduled. After making a quick stop at Macy's to buy a bottle of wedding perfume Jamie and the ladies rode in the limo over to the church, Colonial Presbyterian.

The bridesmaids wore red, strapless, floor length dresses with a small train. Jamie's dress was very intricate and elegant with lots of bead work and lace. After Jamie was all ready she had made the decision to see Jaye before the ceremony so they could get all their formal photos done before the ceremony. Jamie and Jaye both said that they were glad they made that decision because it relieved a lot of stress off one another and both were more relaxed. Following was the ceremony performed by the pastor of their church, Pastor Dan Deeble and by the Reverend of Coloinal, Bob Lehleitner. The message that Pastor Dan gave was very beautiful and he discussed how after the wedding is over and the couple stops receiving gifts from their bridal registries that Jamie and Jaye will have things to learn about one another on each others personal registry and must pay attention to one another's wants and needs.

After the ceremony the guests all gathered outside the church with bubbles to send Jamie and Jaye off with as they boarded their white wedding bus. Jamie and Jaye had allowed some extra time in their schedule to go on some location shoots. As I hopped on the bus with the crazy gang, AKA the wedding party, Jeff followed in our car to the Nelson-Atkins Museum. We were "allowed" a few shots in front of the museum and pillars. We grabbed a few more shots over by some headless statues where the wedding party had fun playing peak-a-boo. Then it was time to head to the reception at the Mark Twain Building in the The Sawyer Room.

Before entering Jamie and Jaye wanted a few shots on the rooftop overlooking the Kansas City skyline. Jamie and Jaye made a grand entrance on the small balcony that overlooked the Sawyer Room. After dinner they cut the cake, listened to toasts and had their first Dance - they danced to "Out Loud" by Dispatch.

We have had a blast the whole time we have known you guys, from the time we met to the engagement session we did in KC to the wedding day. We want to let you know Jamie and Jaye that your day couldn't have been more beautiful. The two of you are definitely made for each other and we wish you many years of happiness and laughter. Hope you had a great time on the beach! If you got any sunset shots while on the beach and want to share them that would be cool! Something about a sunset on a beach it is so peaceful.

Hey gang, here are a few baby pics we've been taking lately. Yes, we take baby pics as well as weddings. Here is a slide show from Carolyn's bridal session. Remember to check back to view their wedding debut.

The marriage of Patrick and Carolyn took place on Saturday, August 20, 2007 at Eastminister Chruch. For Carolyn, the day began early with the arrival of the hair stylist to her parent's home. Carolyn and several of the girls as well as Carolyn's brothers and father all had their hair done up in preparation of the wedding. Once all the ladies arrived at the house and were ready, the White Unified Party Bus showed up and took them all to the church, where they would get into their dresses. Carolyn's dress was a really beautiful strapless white dress that she found in Texas. The dress was a zip up the back with buttons that buttoned over the zipper. Carolyn's sister and mother helped button up Carolyn's dress using a crochet needle. The eight bridesmaids wore chocolate brown strapless taffeta T-Length dresses with silver high heals.

After the bus left the church, it was off to Wichita Country Club to pick up the guys and bring them to the church to get ready.

Once Carolyn and Patrick were ready, the sanctuary was cleared and the couple was able to see each other for the first time in their wedding attire. After a few moments together we began with photographs of the couple in front of the large stained glass window at the church. We were then joined by the rest of the bridal party and then family members for the group photos.

The ceremony was a beautiful event. The officiant was Reverend Dr. Steven Marsh, who after a brief sermon, witnessed the statement of vows and the exchange of rings. Following the exchange of rings, the couple lit the unity candle while soloist Kelsey Emery sang Ave Maria. After the final blessing the couple was pronounced husband and wife, kissed and exited the sanctuary. As the couple exited the church to go to the reception they were greeted by handfuls of lavender tossed by all the guests.

Once aboard the bus, the bridal party headed to the Wichita Country Club. Once there we commandeered several golf carts and took the entire wedding party out on the course for some photos at sunset. We then finished up with a few photos of Patrick and Carolyn together on one of the many bridges around the course.

Then it was time for the reception. As the guests gathered around, the couple was formally announced into the reception and proceeded to the cake table to cut the cake and toast each other. Following this it was time for dinner. As dinner was being eaten, we gave Carolyn's mom and dad an ipod with a slide show from Carolyn's bridal session on it, for them to share with friends and family.

Once dinner was done, the couple made their way to the dance floor where Patrick's dads band performed, and the couple had their first dance, followed by the parents dance. One of the things that was important to Patrick to have at the reception was a Funnel Cake trailer. The Funnel Cake trailer was hired so that guests were able to go and pick out their very own funnel cake made fresh and they were able to put whatever toppings on it as they wanted. As guests leaved Carolyn and Patrick had small jars of honey to give away along with accent plates. The rest of the evening was spent in dancing to the great music provided by a live band with Patrick's dad playing the guitar and enjoying the company of friends and family.

Thank you so much to Patrick, Carolyn and their families for making this such a wonderful event to be a part of. We all had a great time and wish you many happy years together.

Down and Dirty

Last Thursday, August 16th we were in the Wichita Eagle for our signature session that we offer, The Extreme Session. Denise, editor for the Eagle, contacted us because she had seen that we had submitted some of our work to www.trashthedress.com. We know there is some controversy out there about "trashing" a wedding dress. We came up with the eXtreme session in April 2006.

We originally were doing a promo video created by Fat Cat Productions to show people how we work with a bride and groom. This however, turned into quite a different session- the eXtreme session.™ We work and talk with our couples before doing the sessions to see where they want to go, to what extent they wish to 'trash the dress' and what their definition of 'eXtreme' really is. One couple we did the session for earlier this summer didn't get the photos she wanted on her wedding day from the photographer that she hired. They got in their wedding day attire again and we went to local parks and got some romantic shots. Afterwards they were up for running through the fountains in Old Town. So this being said, not every Extreme session has to be rolling in sand, mud, dirt and grime or swimming in a wedding dress and tux.

This last Monday we had the honor to meet an absolutely fun and spontaneous couple, Stephanie and Cameron. They had gotten married in Cozumel, Mexico three weeks ago and Stephanie had found us featured on www.trashthedress.com back in May of this year. She e-mailed us once she got back from Mexico to tell us she wanted to do one of our Extreme sessions that we offer with Fat Cat Productions. When asking her what she wanted to do she said that we had free reign to do as we wished and be the artists. The only speculation she had was she didn't want her dress ripped, set on fire, cut with scissors or stained with paint. We had an absolute blast!!!! We are really excited about our upcoming bookings of the Extreme session with a bride in Kansas City in January who is praying for snow to do her session in and then another bride in Colorado who is excited to get some shots in the mountains and area waterfalls.

These sessions can be made your own and however extreme you make them, simple or full blown trashing. For those that don't understand why a bride would want to go under water or sit in dirt in her wedding dress, it is said that it is a commitment to her husband, not the dress, and that there is no reason to wear the dress ever again. Truthfully, in all the sessions that we have done amazingly enough haven't gotten too dirty! Dry cleaners do work wonders and you will want to clean the dress prior to the final preservation anyhow. Sessions can be done with just the bride or with the bride and groom. Call us today to book your extreme session!

I know what everyone is thinking finally they are posting more... Yeah yes, yes we are getting caught back up... Here is one of the KC engagement sessions we promised to show soooo long ago. Sorry for the delay in getting the slide show posted Erica and Dave.

Netanya and I headed to KC hours after the V.C. Blast to get work with Erica and Dave, one of our upcoming wedding. Erica is probably follows our blog closer than anyone one I've meet yet. So it was fun to quiz her on it during their session. We even spilled the beans on a few upcoming announcements that we just can tell everyone yet. Sorry.... I know, NOT fair. It will be ok or as the therapy buddy seen on American Inventor says "Everything is going to be all right" Check it out.

Erica and Dave Thanks again for showing us a great time in KC. You guys were great to work with and we are excited about working with you on your upcoming wedding day.

Fields - Vigness

This past weekend we did a wedding out in Dodge City, KS at First Church of God. The church was a cute little white church with a steeple with cross on top, old white painted front doors , and inside there were old wooden pews that were the original. It was mentioned that the church was built in 1930. Very cool.

Cassey had her aunts do hair updo's for all the bridesmaids at the church at 12:00. One of the aunts helped Cassey put on her make-up. The wedding colors were navy blue and pink and the flowers were roses and lillies. The ceremony was at 6:30 p.m. Casey's dad escorted her down the aisle to see Joe for the first time that day. Cassey looked stunning wearing a beautiful white dress that she had found at Accent Bridal in Wichita, KS. It was white satin with lots of bead work on the bodice. Instead of a unity candle Cassey and Joe had sand they poured into a vase. Cassey's sand was pink and Joe poured blue sand.

After the ceremony the guests blew bubbles as the bride and groom walked out to a black T-top Trans-AM. Joe helped his new bride in the car and then spun out with plenty of smoke that made guests clap, laugh and have a look of awe on their faces! They went around the block and came back to the church for the remaining of their pictures. After finishing up family shots and a few shots with Cassey and Joe alone at the church we headed to downtown Dodge City near Boot Hill. Then it was time to head to the reception which was located at Mariah Hills Golf Course. We did grab a few pictures of Cassey and Joe in a golf cart and then we had a request from Joe. He wanted some shots with his groomsmen and their shotguns as they are farm boys that like to hunt. We got many odd looks from bystanders as they drove by and we were taking the photos with five guys holding Shotguns!

After entering the reception and all the guests had went through the line to eat they did the toasts and then cut the cake. The cake was made and decorated by Joe's mother. Guests had a chance to come up and greet Cassey and Joe as they went up to get a piece of cake. Afterwards Cassey tossed the bouquet off the outside balcony of the club house to the single women. Then they had a unique way to give away the garter.

Cassey's dad was the auctioneer and they auctioned it off to the highest bidder. Everytime a girl put money in the hat Joe would hike up the garter higher and when a guy would put money in the hat Joe would slide the garter down till the garter was officially off. Cassey and Joe danced to "I Need You" by Tim McGraw and Faith Hill. We were also able to grab some shots of Cassey and Joe at sunset and then around 9:00 p.m. the sprinklers turned on across the golf course! At first they weren't quite sure what to think but then they were like, "What the heck!?" We got some great shots as Cassey were jumping over the sprinklers! We want to thank you Cassey and Joe for allowing us to document your special day and be part of your wedding day.

Jeff and I arrived in Hutchinson, KS at 7 a.m. to start documenting Brittani and her seven bridesmaids at Attitudes Salon. With it so early a couple of the girls took orders for Starbucks, headed out and brought back caffeine to wake everyone up. When some of the girls were in the hot seat to get their up-do others were putting on make-up or painting toe nails. While the ladies were at the salon in the morning the guys went and had breakfast at I-Hop. When all the girls were all dolled up they headed to the church, Holy Cross Catholic Church, to get into their dresses.

Brittani's color was pale pink. The bridesmaids dresses were strapless swooped to one side and floor length. The guys wore black tuxes with matching pale pink vests and ties. During the ceremony Brittani's dad, Keith, sang a couple of songs. This made it extra special and quite the tear-jerker. After the ceremony the guests rang tiny bells outside as Brittani and Ian went out to their car. We were able to grab a few pictures of Brittani and Ian on the way to the reception walking down a brick road and them just being themselves.

The reception was held on the Kansas State Fair Grounds in the Domestic Arts Building. We had never shot there before but it made for a fun occasion and very spacious for receptions and parties that are very large. Even though it was big the place was packed with friends and family of the bride and groom. Once the newlyweds arrived they mingled with their guests and then had dinner. Afterwards was the cake cutting- they were nice and didn't have it up each others noses. When the first dance was ready Keith picked up the microphone and sang while Brittani and Ian danced their first song as husband and wife. Following was the father/daughter and mother/son dances. The bouquet and garter toss was quite competitive and was very rewarding for the ones that caught them!

Brittani and Ian, you guys were a really wonderful couple to work with and we thank you for allowing us to be the photographers to document your wedding. We took lots of photos and there are many more to view in the coming weeks after we edit them all.

After a 22 hour day with the wedding the day before and Jeff to bed by 3 a.m. we were up again and kicking at 6:30 a.m. to leave and be at the next wedding by 8 a.m. We started documenting Laura at the Church of Magdalen with her bridesmaids as they got their hair done.

Laura's colors were sage and dusty rose. Laura had six bridesmaids who wore dusty rose strapless ankle length dresses from Alfred Angelo. Laura's dress was a white Maggie Sottero Brittanya two-piece, lace and taffeta strapless, A-line, corset laced back gown. The lace bodice was accented with taffeta ornamenting the empire waistline and sprinkled with crystals. The taffeta skirt was caught up richly creating a full A-line silhouette. The flower girl dress was made by Laura's mom, Sheryl. Laura and Sheryl had already bought a dress on E-Bay for $15 but one day Sheryl surprised Laura with telling her that she wanted to make the dress for the flower girl, Lexi. The dress looked like a designer dress and was very well done to match Laura's with the gathered skirt and had a dusty rose sash that tied in the back to make a bow. Sheryl commented that Lexi, being only five years old, held still for a long time to make sure the bottom of the skirting was even all the way around. Laura had a tierra and a cathedral length veil. Laura had a wedding shower/party as part of the planning of the wedding attire as well with the attendants at the party getting together and stringing beads. The string of beads were later attached to the edge of the veil for Laura to wear on her wedding day. Colby was Lexi's brother who was the ring bearer. The two looked adorable together.

The ceremony started without a hitch at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Patrick York performing the ceremony. Laura's father, Jim Hays, walked Laura down the aisle towards her groom, Scott. It was the first time they saw each other that day. Scott was grinning from ear to ear watching his stunning bride approach him. I (Tyffany) was able to capture the couple's expressions to one another at the front of the church as Jeff was capturing the moments from the back of the church. There were many special moments when Laura was caught looking straight ahead and Scott was looking down at his beautiful bride.

Afterwards guests gathered and got a cone full of freeze dried rose petals to shower the newleyweds with as they headed to the trolley they had rented. Jeff hopped on the trolley with the wedding party and I followed in our car as we headed to the reception location which was held at the Hotel Old Town. We were able to grab some shots of the wedding party and the bride and groom in front of River City Brewery and Hotel Old Town.

Then it was time to have Ron Brown with Another Dimension announce the wedding party into their reception. Dinner was served and then a video montage of Laura and Scott was displayed on a big screen provided by Ron Brown. Many laughs, tears of joy and claps were shared during the montage.

The cake cutting was followed with their first toast with one another. The kids or kids-at-heart had the choice to take a mini cake in the shape of a cow or pig. The toast given by Maggie Hays, Maid of Honor and Laura's sister, was a tear jerker letting Laura know how much she cares for her sister and how much she will be missed at home not having her around to pick on. Heath Brady, the best man and friend of Scott's, did the other toast. Following was Laura and Scott's first dance they danced to as husband and wife; good old Louis Armstrong's "I'm In The Mood For Love". Their dance was choreographed including Scott dipping Laura at the end of the song. Afterwards Scott walked Laura over to her dad, Jim, to hand her off for the father/daughter dance of the evening. Scott danced with his mom, Bernie for the mother/son dance.

The garter toss included Scott taking off Laura's KU garter with his teeth. Before the bouquet toss Laura took charge and made sure that all the single ladies in the room were there to have a chance to catch the bouquet calling out names through the DJ's microphone. The dollar dance included Maggie, Laura's sister, gathering money in a pouch for Scott as he had a chance to dance with the ladies. Heath, the best man to Scott, gathered money in a black top hat for Laura as she had a chance to dance with the men. Maggie and Heath had quite the rival going to make sure that one of them won. Maggie yelled out over the microphone to make sure that all the ladies in the room either came and gave a dollar to Scott or came and danced with Scott. Some of the excuses Maggie yelled out were Scott needs to help pay for the honeymoon or for college student loans. The final total was never disclosed, but both the pouch and the top hat were full.

After Laura and Scott finished the dollar dance they agreed to go out and get some more pictures. We hoped for some sunset shots but it was too late for those. Instead we went across the street in front of the Farm and Art Market where someone was playing some Blues music. People were gathered around with old petal bikes and Laura and Scott went over and danced. I think Laura was a little hesitant but Scott just said, "take my lead". It was a great way to end the day and we were able to get some amazing shots of them dancing.

You guys were great and also had the timeline all laid out and planned perfectly. It is obvious that you guys are in love and share a deep relationship. We wish you many years of happy times. Please stay in touch.

Waking up to an alarm at 4:45 a.m., leaving by 5:45 a.m. and in Hutchinson by 7 a.m. was early for the T&J crew to start a wedding (Tyffany, Jeff and Netanya)! Even though it was early it was WORTH it! Becky and CJ's wedding was very personalized, unique, and creative. Becky and CJ ran a 5K with family, friends including bridesmaids and groomsmen. About 60+ people showed up to support the 5K and run with Becky and CJ. The run was quite the event for Becky and CJ to start their wedding day off together. T-Shirts were made along with personalized signs made by our former bride and groom, Melissa and Brian Tinklepaugh. "Run for your Life" was just one of the many signs that was made to encourage friends and family to keep running. Melissa's parents were at a check point to pass out water bottles to help cool down those who got tired. We followed everyone in our car to capture everybody running. Half way through CJ and his groomsmen had a plotted plan including taking a U-Turn detour to make the race shorter, then passing Becky winded and wore out- making Becky believe her groom-to-be was really running hard and fast. The guys had a car parked out of sight to hop into and they crossed at the finish line "going the wrong way!" As Becky approached the finish line CJ had another plan up his sleeve. This included a bucket of ice water hiding behind a mini-van. You can imagine what he did! Becky said the water felt good since she ran the whole race without any detours or short cuts... CJ wore a garter throughout the race and Becky took it off with her teeth at the end. The garter was tossed and CJ's mom, Sue, caught it. Becky put it on Sue's leg and she kept it on even while she was at the salon. At the end of the race it was time to hit the showers and head out to get all dolled up for the wedding. CJ and his groomsmen went to Carriage Crossing in Yoder, KS to have breakfast while Becky and her bridesmaids went to Heritage Place in Hutchinson to get hair and make-up done.

Sue was the beautician who did all the girl's hair including the mothers. Renee, a friend of Becky's, did an excellent job on all the ladies' make-up. Sue's beauty shop is located behind her house in a totally remodeled homey garage. In between hair being done Becky and the girls made Sue's backyard a fun place to hang out. Writing on the side walk with chalk, playing on a kids motorized John Deere tractor, swinging in the hammock, popping the cork to a bottle of champagne and chugging. When it was Becky's turn she had a unique vined, rhinestone comb that went on the side of her head to add to her sparkly personallity. After all the girls looked spectacular they headed off to Holy Cross Catholic Church to get into their dresses. Becky's colors were turquoise and chocolate brown. The bridesmaids wore brown chiffon tea-length dresses and carried little bags made by Becky's mom to have accessories when needed throughout the day. Becky also had given all her bridesmaids a charm necklace to wear customized to each of their personalities. The guys wore black tuxes with chocolate brown vests and ties. Becky wore an unforgetable beautiful dress made of scarfy chiffon. She also made sure that she had her something Old, New, Borrowed and Blue. She had a little pouch made from left over material of her moms dress. Included in it was a locket of her grandparents that her grandmother and mother wore during their wedding, a string of pearls and a broach.

The ceremony started at 5:00 p.m. and was absolutely beautiful with Becky's dad, Roy, walking her down the long aisle to CJ. Afterwards Becky and CJ ushered out each pew to give them a chance to say hello to each of their guests. Guests then lined up outside with bubbles as Becky and CJ headed to a get-away antique white T-top Corvette. This was a surprise from Becky to CJ. Guests headed to the Kansas Cosmosphere where they all watched an Imax show before Becky, CJ and the wedding party arrived. We were able to grab some photos on an old red brick road with Becky, CJ and the wedding party. Then it was time to head to the party.

The reception continued with the creativeness. The wedding party came down the staircase of the Cosmosphere while a personalized reading from dB Extreme DJ Service was read about each bridesmaid, groomsmen and lastly Becky and CJ. Dinner started at 7:15 p.m. with the wedding party and family going first. Following, guests at the tables had to come up with a song and sing it in the microphone before getting released to go to the food line. This made it fun and entertaining to say the least! Following was a video montage of Becky and CJ with a music video overlay telling the story of their life thus far together. The toasts were done by Melissa Tinklepaugh, maid of honor; Ruth Moritz, Matron of Honor; Peter Mann, Best Man; Roy Broxterman, father to Becky; Dennis Armstrong, father of CJ; and lastly Patrick Broxterman, Becky's brother, who had quite the speech including telling CJ to have a sit down trial right then and there. He said since he is now a trial attorney and Becky's big brother, his duty was to interrogate CJ on is sister's behalf. This brought many laughs to the room and was a unique way to give a speech but totally appropriate being that he is Becky's big brother. Next was the cake cutting with a tiered cake with each layer a different flavor- white, lemon, and chocolate. The cake topper was used on Becky's grandmother's and mother's wedding cake. This made it special to have on Becky and CJ's cake as well. The cake utensils were engraved and also used in grandma's and mom's wedding. Traditionally the bride and groom cuts from the bottom layer only but they wanted to taste all the flavors so they did a cut from each layer so they could try all three. With CJ being an architect the layers were evenly cut without a flaw and leaving no mess till it came time to feed one another! The garter and bouquet toss had a twist to it as well. Becky sat down to have CJ go after the garter and to surprise the guests CJ couldn't find anything on Becky's leg. Come to find out they swapped roles and Becky went searching after the garter on CJ's leg taking it off with her teeth. She took it with a K- State football to put it around and CJ grabbed the bouquet and they threw them off the staircase down to the crowd of both single men and women. The couple that caught each are boyfriend and girlfriend! Following was the grand march with Rick and Rondi, the DJs, at the lead.Then formal dances that included Becky and CJ's first dance as husband and wife, father/daughter dance and mother/son dance which had their own personal touches as well that as photographers we had never seen done before. Becky and CJ had personally recorded letters to one another and they were laid over the recording of the Rascal Flats song, "My Wish", played to express how much they mean to each another. Both families were very nice to work with and spend the day with. Becky you are such a sweet individual and really put a lot of thought into how you planned your day with everything going just as planned. We thought it was a cool fact that during the announcement of your entrance to the reception to hear that CJ sold his car to buy your engagement ring and now bikes to work. You both are such a wonderful couple and it is evident that you trully are IN LOVE!!! In fact the two of you have re-invented the word love. What a blast and keep in touch!

Melissa started her day bright and early at 9 a.m. at Elements Salon with five bridesmaids, the flowergirl, her mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

When she was finished with hair and makeup she arrived at The Grand Chapel shortly after 11 to finish getting ready in the Bride's room. On the other side of the wall of her room was her groom, Jace, getting ready in the groom's dressing room. They had chosen to see each other to get all the pictures done before the wedding and around noon the moment arrived. We were able to get some great pictures of the two of them and their families.

The ceremony started at 3:00. It was a beautiful ceremony despite the fact that it was sweltering hot and people were fanning themselves with the programs. Melissa and Jace exchanged vows that they had written for one another. Melissa and Jace both shared some happy tears of joy during their vows. After the ceremony Melissa and Jace were showered with bubbles as they approached their Executive white stretched limos to take them to the reception at the Scottish Rite. On the way to the Scottish Rite we grabbed some shots of Melissa and Jace on the bridge in Riverside Park near the Castle Inn Riverside where they were staying for the night.

Melissa and Jace were announced at the reception by Steve Walsh with Advanced DJ Service as they and the wedding party came down the grand staircase. Melissa and Jace got things started by cutting the cake. The "groom's cake" was little iced cupcakes with a chocolate candy bar on top. If some guests chose to take a cupcake home or may not have had room for it after dinner they could take it with them in a to-go box with Melissa and Jace's name and wedding date imprinted on it. The food was catered by Corporate Caterers and the video of the day was captured by Fat Cat Productions.

Shortly after Melissa and Jace had gone through the buffet style line of fabulous food, an Uncle of Jace's called from Milan, Italy to wish Melissa and Jace congratulations on their marriage. The phone call came in and Steve Walsh connected it to the microphone so the whole ballroom could hear. It was a great surprise! After dinner Melissa and Jace danced to "First Day of My Life" by Bright Eyes. The formal dances- the father/daughter and mother/son dance and the garter and bouquet toss. Melissa had informed us that she had provided the DJ with a list and CD of songs for him to play. Early in the day Melissa told me that she wish she would have included some songs that weren't her favorite so she would give herself a break from dancing! She danced literally all night long with Jace, family and friends. Everybody had a great time.

Jace and Melissa, thank you so much for hiring us to document your wedding day. You guys are one of the sweetest couples that we have met and we had a blast!

Ally is Stephanie's sister, from over at Fat Cat Productions, and with a last name as Shay one can only make the guaranteed assumption that the day would be fun. Ally is a very bubbly and fun person. She started at Hair Perfections for an updo.Then she was off for make up over at Sola Salons. With no time to spare and on schedule she darted over to Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton to get into her dress. The four bridesmaids wore strapless red dresses gathered at the waist and swooped to one side with a jewell on the hip. Ally wore a strapless princess dress with the boddess covered in bead work and many layers of tulle to the skirting.

As a surprise and gift to Ally her bridesmaids and other friends had given her a night in The Castle Inn Riverside. This was to polish off the princess fairytale relationship that she has had with Aaron, her prince. Ally and Aaron met through mutual friends and talked a lot on the phone. They became really good friends and started a long distance relationship over the phone. So their dating relationship started before they even met.

The ceremony was gorgeous with three of the four groomsmen in their Dress Blue US Marine uniforms and Aaron in his Dress Blues as well but with a sword he wore on his hip. Afterwards a Rolls Royce limo by Executive Limo Service picked them up and drove them to their reception that was held at the Knights of Columbus Hall. As soon as they were announced by Sott Ward
with Accent Mobile Music DJ Service Ally and Aaron went over and cut their cake with the sword that Aaron carried all day. Then they rolled right into the rest of the formal events including their first dance Kenny Chesney's song "You Had Me From Hello" and the father/daugher dance, garter and bouquet toss.

Aaron and Ally we want to congratulate both of you on your marriage and you both were a lot of fun to work with on your wedding day.

After being booked with us almost a year ago, Shanna and Trent got married today July 21, 2007 in McPherson at Countryside Covenant Church. Shanna and Trent are the second couple that came to our studio and booked with us as their photographers before being engaged. This is in itself very humbling and rewarding. As soon as Shanna and Trent were engaged we got the exciting call from Shanna so enthusiastic and wanted to book their engagement session.

The day started early with Trent golfing with his buddies at 6 a.m. on Turkey Creek Golf Course. While Jeff documented the guys on the golf course Trent shared an interesting fact about their rings. He said that they had purchased their rings at B.C. Clark Jewelers based out of Oklahoma City. The promotion the company offers that if you buy an engagement ring at B.C. Clark Jewelers and it rains an inch or more in Oklahoma City between midnight to midnight on the wedding day the jewelers pay for the ring up to $5,000!!! Unfortunately, it didn't work out for Shanna and Trent to have their engagement rings for free because it didn't rain as they prayed and hoped for.

Shanna started at Creative Hair Lines at 8 a.m. with her ladies. While at the salon Shanna shared with me how excited she was to see Trent (then she would giggle). She explained how she had written letters to her "future husband" since she was a freshman in High School. Then she had been writing to Trent since they started dating 2 years ago. Her wedding gift to Trent was a journal where she had re-written all these letters inside.

Shanna wore a beautiful white halter top chiffon wedding gown with white ribbon across the boddess and along the floor. Satin buttons lined from the middle of her dress all the way down the train. Shanna wanted to make sure that she was comfortable by wearing white Nike running shoes with air cushion soles. Shanna's bridesmaids wore aqua blue halter top with a thin black ribbon under the boddess and black T-length skirts.

Shanna and Trent decided to see each other at 10:30 a.m. before the ceremony and get all the pictures done beforehand. We captured their happy tears as they saw each other for the first time. They also had scheduled in their day to have an hour of time to go around downtown McPherson for just the two of them. We then headed back to the church to finish up the formals with the family and wedding party. At 2:00 Pastor Jon Black performed their ceremony with a beautiful message. Afterwards guests were ushered out to the foyer of the church to a receiving line that gave Shanna, Trent and their parents a chance to thank them for coming. The guests were then handed a balloon to release as Shanna and Trent left the church to get in a red T-top Camaro. We were also able to grab some shots of Shanna and Trent on a farm that was across from the church with a red barn and them swinging in old wooden swings. Then on the way to the reception, which was held at The Red Coach Inn, Shanna and Trent wanted to stop at one more location at the Turkey Creek Golf Course where Trent is the manager at. Then it was ready to hed to the reception for cake and punch.

Shanna and Trent, we want to thank you so much for first off believing in us so much to book before you guys were in engaged. You guys are truly very sweet and were a pleasure to work with on the wedding day. You will have to share pictures of your trip to the Cancun area for your honeymoon when you get back.
